Quidditch Cup Match 2006-2007
Author: Viktor Krum
Date:   08-16-13 09:02

As they've done the last two matches Flora Lynch and Karl Broadmoor are on hand to assist Viktor with refereeing the last match of the Hogwarts 2006-2007 season. Hufflepuff is playing Ravenclaw for the school's Quidditch Cup. Viktor is aware that for some students winning the Quidditch Cup outweighs winning the House Cup.

The stands are rapidly filling with student, staff, and visitors as Karl, Flora, and Viktor stand on the sidelines talking about nothing of any great consequence. Every now and then someone comes up to ask who Viktor thinks will win today. He gives the same answer every time. "Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are fairly evenly matched so the game can go either way." It's not only a diplomatic response, it's the truth.

Soon, it's time for Viktor to carry the trunk to the center of the pitch. Just after the teams are announced with Hufflepuff exiting the locker room first, each player making a circuit around the pitch, waving at the spectators, the noise level increasing as each name is announced.

"For Hufflepuff, beater Augustus Hodfuffer! Beater Caerwyn Valentine! Chaser Sadie Mickel! Chaser Jasper Jenkins! Chaser Marlow MacDougal! Keeper Glori Hodfuffer! Seeker, and team captain, Aleydis Vanderbilt!"

As the Hufflepuff team members fly to form a line on one side of Viktor Ravenclaw is announced.

"For Ravenclaw, chaser and captain Jack Emerson! Chaser Alastor Jenkins! Chaser Ramona Mickle! Keeper Beatrix Vanderbilt! Beater Jade Green! Beater Aderyn Carter! Seeker Christopher Chant!"

As the Hufflepuffs had done, each member of the Ravenclaw team makes a circuit around the pitch befoe forming a line to the other side of Viktor. He calls the captains forward and as Aleydis and Jack shake hands he reminds, "Let's play a clean match."

Karl, Flora, and the players take to the air as Viktor releases first the bludgers, then the snitch, and lastly, the quaffle. Using his wand to whisk the trunk off the pitch, Viktor quickly joins those now far above his head as the six chasers converge on the quaffle to be the first to gain possession.

Lunch Date

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes -- and ships -- and sealing wax --
Of cabbages -- and kings --
And why the sea is boiling hot --
And whether pigs have wings."

" … Pip? Hopefully whatever has you so distracted is either work-related or something you should tell me about in private." Nephele's voice brought him out of his ruminations on the works of Charles Dodgson.

"My apologies, Nephele. I've been reading and re-reading all of Dodgson's works, trying to find some clue; it's the only common thread we have so far." It wasn't until he noticed the twinkle in her eye and the smirk on her lips that the implication of the end of her sentence sunk in. Suddenly, Alice's misadventures were the furthest thing from his mind.

The corners of her mouth drew up slightly, as she let him squirm for just a moment. "You always look at these things like a Ravenclaw, Pip. If looking at the similarities isn't getting you anywhere, then perhaps you should change your strategy and examine their differences."

"'When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.' Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Sign of the Four. You're absolutely right. I've been approaching this problem from the same direction this whole time, without success. It's time to change tactics."

Nephele stood, with Pip following as he dropped a few bills to cover lunch. She spoke as she walked. "You should take a break if you're going to switch gears like that. You need to let your mind reset, or you'll bring all of the baggage of this line of thinking into your new one. Now – " She suddenly stopped and turned to face him. " – are you going to take a break, or am I going to have to whip up a potion to force it on you?"

The slightest hitch to Nephele's eyebrow was enough to give Pip pause to wonder if he might enjoy being at Nephele's mercy like that. It was enough to make him feel emboldened. He stepped closer to her. "I'll take the break voluntarily on one condition: Spend that time with me, in Paris."

"Well, I suppose that depends. Are you luring me off to Paris to besmirch my virtue?"

Nephele held Pip's eyes in what should have been an uncomfortable stare-down. For an agonizing moment, Pip felt himself lost in a world of green, tinged with blue. His heart raced as he moved closer, guiding her against a section of wall. He couldn't hold back any longer. Cradling her head gently with one hand, he leaned in and lost himself in a kiss.

When their lips finally parted, he found the breath to answer her question. "That, my dear, is entirely up to you."

Welcome Home Nuri Rhodes Morgan

Thursday, May thirty-first would be a whirl-wind of a day. Early in the morning labor pains had begun, and a quick owl would be sent to the Headmistress, and Professor Binns had been asked to substitute for the remainder of the week for my History of Magic classes – as I was on my way to St. Mungo's to welcome my daughter into the world.

We'd sent Jui and Karma to her in-laws for a little while, and they would be bringing the girls by as soon as it was clear to have visitors. Dexter was rushing, rapidly covering all the bases, and ensuring that we had my hospital bag so that we could go to the maternity ward of St. Mungo's.

We'd arrived at St. Mungo's by six-thirty in the morning, and by one that afternoon I'd given birth to my daughter Nuri Rhodes Morgan. She was eight pounds, twenty inches long and already proving that she was going to be a handful, and a wiggle worm. She also, nearly had the entire staff of healers wrapped around her adorable little finger by dinner that night.

I'd spent Thursday and Friday in St. Mungo's, sending out simple birth announcements to my friends and family, and ultimately was allowed to go home by about noon on the second of June, Jui and Karma had both been introduced to their new sister on Friday before going to spend time with my parents, giving Dex's a bit of a break. We'd be letting people come over in the next couple of weeks, and I was considering taking this week off to spend some time with Nuri, but go back to help my students through their final exams and enjoy the summer vacation coming up.

We'd come home, and were greeted by friends and family, all who were eager to meet the newest member of the Morgan clan. Nuri Rhodes Morgan eagerly became the center of attention, and I was somewhat surprised that my mother and father had actually shown up – bearing gifts and were actually quite civil – which is good, because I think I would have probably stunned the woman repeatedly.

Once the house had cleared out I put Nuri into her crib, and got the girls settled for their nap, and dropped down on the couch. "The house is quiet for the moment. Thankfully we are not dealing with too much sibling issues yet, though I'm not entirely sure about KJ, and how she's going to fully take to having a little sister and not actually being the baby any more." I said, curling into Dex.

I had drifted off against Dex's shoulder, and it would seem that the minute my eyes had closed there was the wailing cry of a hungry infant coming from the nursery. "So much for a catnap." I murmured, pushing myself upward and heading into the nursery.

Nuri was lifted, wrapped neatly in the blanket that we'd been given by someone during the Secret Santa last Christmas. She enjoyed the blanket quite a bit, and after settling in the rocking chair in the nursery I let Nuri nurse and started humming lightly as we rocked ever so slightly. Through the open door of the nursery, I heard Dex dealing with the older two, getting them lunch and considering taking them to the park where they would probably be able to hear the announcements for the Championship Quidditch match going on at the school today.

Once the smallest Morgan was fed, I slipped her into her wrap-around snugglie, and headed into the kitchen. I was starving, and came in just as Dex was plating lunch – grilled cheese sandwiches with smoked turkey, tomato soup. Pumpkin juice for the kids, and a mug of chai tea with agave syrup in it for sweetening.

(Sadie & Ramona) Sister vs Sister
Author: Griet
Date:   08-16-13 17:53

The quaffle went up up up, with all six chasers converging on it at once. It seemed amazing that more accidents didn't happen at tip off due to collisions in the scramble to gain possession of the coveted red ball. Sadie and Ramona, sisters and chasers on opposing teams, both vyed for the quaffle, but it was Jasper of Hufflepuff who was the first to get his hands on it.

He immediately pushed for the Ravenclaw goal hoops, with Marlow and Sadie falling into place slightly behind and on either side of Jasper so that they formed a V-shape. Ramona shot after them and quickly cut her eyes at all the activity in front of her to determine where best to position herself. She decided to see if she could wedge herself between her older sister and Jasper.

It would be tricky, since Sadie body was aligned with the bristles of Jasper's broomstick, with barely any room between them. Just one bad collision, and Jasper would take out either Sadie or Marlow with him, depending on which way he swerved. If their flying went without incident, however, then the tight formation served as an asset.

Ramona urged her broomstick faster, quickly finding herself catching up to Sadie. Because of Jasper's position, Sadie couldn't cut in front of Ramona to slow her down, but Ramona also couldn't pull up any further without meeting a face full of bristles. Luckily, a bludger courtesy of Jade forced Sadie to move or get hit. She opted to dodge the black ball, rolling away from Ramona and Jasper, which gave the younger Mickle the opening she needed to pull up next to Jasper.

Jasper started to switch the quaffle from the hand nearest Ramona to the one protected by Marlow, but the temporary exposure was just what Ramona needed to make the steal. She swiped at the ball and nearly fumbled it, but before Jasper could attempt to recover it, she had it firmly in hand. Ramona quickly turned around and hustled toward the Hufflepuff goal hoops.

Sadie spun around and made every possible effort to catch up to Ramona. Ramona saw that Jack was open and lobbed the quaffle to him. He held on to it for a second before throwing it to Alastor. Alastor tried to keep it for a longer period of time, but when Gus and Caerwyn both directed bludgers his way, he tossed the ball back to Ramona.

In short order, they reached the goal hoops. Ramona immediately shot the ball at one of them. Glori spiked the quaffle, sending it back to Ramona with quite a bit of force. She caught it, but it managed to knock the wind out of her. The distraction was all Sadie needed to steal the quaffle from her sister. She took off like a shot, determined to put as much distance between herself and the Hufflepuff goal hoops.

Sadie threw the quaffle to Marlow, when she saw a bludger coming her way. She rolled to avoid it, which she did just barely. Marlow did a quick pass to Jasper, who tossed the quaffle long hand to Sadie when Jack and Alastor tried to box him in. Sadie was still pretty far from the hoops, but she thought she might be able to make a goal. She propped the quaffle forward with all her might. Her aim was good, but her cousin Beatrix caught the ball and handed it off to Ramona.

Ramona immediately chucked the quaffle to Jack, who was the farthest away and could make a clean break from the pack. He rocketed forward, leaving everybody else in the dust. Gus and Caerwyn instantly put their efforts into stopping Jack, both reaching the black bludgers before their Ravenclaw counterparts could.

Jade and Aderyn hurried ahead to see if they could protect Jack, but Caerwyn's bludger outraced them, striking Jack right i the middle of his lower back. He bucked forward, and the quaffle slipped from his grasp. Ramona dove, somehow getting there before anyone else, and grabbed the quaffle before it could hit the ground. Then she pulled up, and while still on the incline, lobbed it at one of the hoops. Glori barely had time to react before the ball was through the rim of the hoop, putting the first points of the match on the board, 10 for Ravenclaw.

A Novelty at the Match (Tamsin)
Author: Josie
Date:   08-17-13 03:29

Although Gryffindor wasn't playing today, I had found a house to support: Ravenclaw. Not that I had anything against Hufflepuff, but my best friend Penny Puckett was a Ravenclaw and so today I would be there for her. Penny even offered me a little flag with blue and bronze stripes, the Ravenclaw colors.

When Ramona scored, giving an advantage of ten points to Ravenclaw, I joined the ovation around the stands and I waved my little flag. Of course I was a bit sad Gryffindor hasn't make it to the Championship Match, however I was also glad the same thing had happened to Slytherin. For the past two years, they had won not only the Quidditch Cup, but also the House cup. This was my third year at Hogwarts and hopefully at the end of the year feast, the Great Hall would not be decorated with green and silver. It would be somewhat a novelty and a good change.

Speaking about novelty…was that my older brother Calum a few rows bellow us? My chin dropped. Yes! That was indeed my brother! But what was he doing here?

Calum, just like the rest of my family, was a Muggle and he never enjoyed Quidditch. He liked football and at home everyone rooted for Everton. Besides, I don't even think my brother knows much about the Quidditch rules. I was also sure Calum had better things to do in a Saturday than visiting his little sister. Besides, if he had come to see me, he would have written to me earlier, telling me so. But Calum did not write to me.

I stopped paying attention to the action at the pitch and observed my brother. His cheeks were painted in yellow and black, so it was clear what house he was rooting for. But why? Then suddenly I noticed a girl seated on my brother's right. She was wearing a yellow Hufflepuff shirt and her face was not strange to me, so I had probably seen her around the school before. I tried to make an effort to recall who she was, as my brother said something to her that made her smile.

I pulled Penny's sleeve.

"Do you know who that is?"

Penny glanced quickly at the girl and her eyes went back to the match. She didn't want to miss a thing. I didn't blame her. If it was my house I would be very attentive as well. But now I was more curious about my brother and the mystery girl.

"I know her name is Abigail Tibbs. A sixth year."And that was all the information I got from Penny.

My interest in the match had been lost, as I kept observing my brother hanging out with Abigail. Were they in some sort of romantic date? The more I looked at Abigail, the more I realized she was the witch Calum had chatted with during the Easter Egg Hunt.

Then a bell rang in my mind as I recalled an unusual letter from home from Edwin asking me how owls were used to exchange letters. The speech did not sound like Edwin's at all and now I realized it has been Calum who had written the letter, pretending to be Edwin. Edwin had always been curious about the wizarding world and he wanted to know how everything worked and that was why I didn't doubt at first the authenticity of such letter. Now I realized Calum had wanted to learn how to communicate with Abigail since he could not use a telephone to call her, or use the regular mail.

I wondered if my parents knew about this. I also realized Calum might have used the excuse he was coming to visit me to enter the school's property.

Amused by my brother's schemes to be with a girl, I observed them for a few more moments and then my attention returned to the match.

Strange Vibration (Marlow)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   08-17-13 15:19

Marlow has slowed, turning to check the tail of her broom but not wanting to go over to the side and come to a full stop. Not when Hufflepuff has the quaffle, Jasper hanging on to the ball to be specific. It's just that something feels off with her broom. Wonky as her cousin Aaron would say.

A cursory look at the tail doesn't give any indication of a problem so Marlow turns more, tilting her body to run a hand over the tail's bristles. She tries to think what could have happened because it was fine when the match began. She wonders if it was one of the times everyone was bunched up together. Another player or player's broom could have hit the tail by accident. In close quarters bunching there's so much jostling that something like that could easily go unnoticed.

Jasper is approaching and looking to pass. Sadie's just off to his side but Marlow knows she needs to be alert and ready. As her broom is still flying as it should and the problem for now is mostly just a strange vibration, she'll wait to say anything. The first time out called she'll maybe see about switching brooms, glad Coach Krum allows that rather than making her sit on the sidelines the rest of the match, as would probably be the case at the professional level.

Jasper passes off to Sadie, just as Marlow thought he might. Jack goes for the interception but misses, partly because Jasper has put a spin on the quaffle making its trajectory curve just enough to throw Jack off when making a dive for it and partly because Gus sends a bludge straight at Jack.

Sadie makes a push forward, skirting around Alastor, eyes going to her cousin Beatrix just ahead, keeper for Ravenclaw. Marlow, trying to ignore the weird vibration up and down the shaft of her broom, curves around the other way, attempting to get in front of Ramona.

Alastor is harassing Sadie so she ends up passing back to Jasper who in turn throws to Marlow. Ramona tries to wrest the quaffle from Marlow before Marlow has a good hold on the ball but she's able to keep her grip, which forces Ramona to back off or risk a fouling.

Marlow takes a shot, sending the quaffle to the nearest hoop. Beatrix bats it away, the angle of the hit sending the ball more towards Sadie and Alastor. Both jerk back as a bludger whizzes past then both go for the quaffle, with Sadie just edging Alastor out. She throws, but unexpectedly for Beatrix, not at a hoop but to Jasper. He immediately launches the quaffle and as Beatrix hasn't quite recovered from darting to where she thought Sadie was going to throw, the quaffle sails through a hoop. Goal for Hufflepuff!

The score now stands tied at 10 points each.

(Aderyn) Championship Match
Author: Cai Pembroke Carter
Date:   08-18-13 08:17

This morning had been full of anxiety and attempting to find some peace of mind mentally, before I had to head out to the pitch. Today was the Championship Match against Hufflepuff, and I was eagerly looking forward to getting on the pitch and having an awesome game, no matter if Ravenclaw won or not.

Breakfast had been light, and I'd gotten encouragement from Cai, Broderick and Angharad before I had to head out to the pitch for warm ups and pep-talk before the match.

Now, the match was fully under way. The score was currently tied ten to ten, and the quaffle was in Ravenclaw possession again which meant that Jade and I were charged with keeping the Hufflepuff chasers away from our chasers.

Jack had the quaffle at the moment, and was currently racing toward the hoops guarded by Glori Hodfuffer, who was eagerly awaiting any chance to shoot down a goal attempt by the Ravenclaw Chasers.

I'd just reached a bludger, and the moment the quaffle left Jack's hand I hit the bludger - smiling as Caerywn attempted to get to it before it blocked Marlow's attempt at an interception. However, he was a second too late and Marlow had to jerk back or risk having the bludger connect with her hand, arm or shoulder.

The pass to Ramona was successful, and Caerwyn attempted to get to the bludger before Jade did, and was a second faster than Jade getting to it which sent it back in the direction of Ramona who was in line to take a shot at the goal hoops. The bludger was well aimed and knocked the quaffle into a free-fall.

After several moments the six chasers colliding for the ball, it ended up back in the hands of Ravenclaw once gain. This time, it was Alastor who had the quaffle and took a few moments to try and get into position for a goal shot.

Flicking my gaze over the pitch I watched for the bludgers, and kept my eye on Caerwyn and Agustus, the Hufflepuff beaters, to ensure that Jade and I could get to the bludgers first instead of the boys.

Alastor took his shot, just as Jade hit a bludger in that direction. The bludger did it's job and Glori had to come up short, and with split seconds to recorrect and try and block the quaffle, it soared into the right-most hoop and the score was now twenty to ten in favor of Ravenclaw!

(Evan) Settled In
Author: Cai Pembroke Carter
Date:   08-18-13 08:28

I'd spent the last week - between classes and working moving into my new place. I'd gotten house warming gifts from friends and family alike - there was a Gryffindor banner, a Hufflepuff banner and a Ravenclaw banner decorating one wall with pictures of my siblings. Cai and Aderyn in their quidditch uniforms. Angharad and Broderick in their school uniforms.

I also had pictures of my parents and places that I'd traveled to. I had sections dedicated to the countries that I'd lived in throughout my childhood and was happy with the way things were going. Food shopping had been done (thanks to my mother) and thus the cabinets were full, and I'd even been given one of the family house elves to help keep the house clean and things in order. Furniture shopping had been done last weekend and moved in earlier this morning.

Currently, I was sitting at the small table in the breakfast nook going over homework assignments. I was having a study group come over for one of my classes this evening and unfortunately, because I had plans this evening I told Aderyn that I wouldn't be able to make her quidditch match today, but she needed to let me know what happened.

Homework spread out in front of me, I'd barely noticed the time slip by, until the house elf popped in, and set a plate of fish and chips in front of me.

"Master Evan must eat. Has not eaten since early this morning." Flopsy said, offering me a light smile.

"Thank you Flopsy." I said, turning my attention to the food and leting my gaze drift from it, while I ate, to continue reading the chapter I was in the middle of.

From One End To The Other And Back Again (Alastor & Jasper)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   08-18-13 08:53

Jasper was the one who put the quaffle back into play after his brother scored for Ravenclaw. He's thrown to Marlow who'd sprinted away getting about a quarter of the distance going back towards Beatrix and her hoops before passing to Sadie. Without the quaffle in hand, Jasper had quickly and easily caught up, getting into a formation with Marlow and Sadie to better protect the quaffle as they move it forward.

They'd gotten the ball to the waiting Beatrix without much incident. Bludger attempts on each of them at times but the only one not stopped by either Gus or Caerwyn only lightly clipped Jasper across one shin.

By the time Hufflepuff is ready for another goal attempt, Sadie has the quaffle. She threw off to the right but Beatrix was able to block, sending the ball back into the mix with a swat of her hand. Jasper had caught it, coming close to knocking heads with his brother, and very glad they didn't as Alastor has a very hard head in Jasper's opinion. His own shot looked to be good, Beatrix not able to get to it but then it smacked into the hoop rim, causing the ball to bounce back away.

Alastor caught the rebound and the action started off the other direction once more. Marlow closing in near her cousin and opposing teammate. He notes that she's gripping her broom handle more tightly than she normally does when not being pressed on the sides by opposing chasers or buffeted by high wind. First chance he gets to speak with her that doesn't involve just a quick word in passing with the fast paced nature of Quidditch, he'll ask if there's something wrong.

Seeing Ramona now just off to the side, Alastor passes her the quaffle. Just in time too as a bludger connects with the shoulder of his throwing arm right after he's let the quaffle go. Ramona catches the ball then accelerates, glancing over to her sister looking to move in and steal. In response, Ramona pours on even more speed, banking slightly to avoid Ravenclaw seeker Christopher Chant.

Ramona only slows some when ready to send the ball ahead to where Alastor is now located. Jasper tries to zoom in between for the interception but his timing is off just enough the quaffle gets by him and Alastor catches it with no problem.

By that time Jack has zipped ahead. He rapidly moves to put himself between Alastor and a bludger so that Alastor can get close enough for a goal shot. Ramona rushes to get there as well, wanting to be close enough to vy for any rebounding that might take place. The three Hufflepuff chasers crowd into the space around the hoops with that same thought in mind as Alastor lets loose of the ball.

Glori catches the quaffle and throws to Jasper. A bludger from Jade messes up that plan though, allowing Ramona to make a grab for the ball. She then throws it in the direction of a hoop, Glori again stopping it, this time by batting it away with her hands. The ball goes straight into Alastor's arms. He gets a good grip on the quaffle then once more throws in hopes of making a goal.

A bludger from Gus stalls Glori, but she's still able to stop the quaffle by swinging her broom around and batting the ball with the tail of her broom. Jasper catches the rebound and tucking the quaffle in close, wheels around to head yet again the other direction down the pitch.

Third Goal (Jade)
Author: Emerald Green
Date:   08-18-13 13:06

In one of those weird, doesn't happen very often moments a bludger knocked the in mid-pass quaffle out of pitch bounds. The quaffle soars straight into one of the section of stands, a number of people converging to try and catch it but ending up just causing a tangle of arms and legs, the quaffle nowhere in sight.

In the lull of locating the quaffle, which had rolled under seats and feet to the front portion of the stands, stopped only by the wooden wall protecting people from the long drop to the ground, Jade stretches full length across her broom, working a kink out of her back. She also rubs at one eye, her left, which is ever so slightly swollen thanks to an elbow.

The elbow to thee eye had happened yesterday when she was reaching to retrieve a dropped quill at the same time someone had bent to retie a shoelace. Just one of those freak sort of accidents. She'd thought nothing much of it at the time because it wasn't a hard smack to the face or anything. Her eye watered and burned and parts of her face around her eye felt bruised but these sorts of things usually pass. No big deal.

No big deal unless the stinging is there for hours and Jade's eye felt itchy, watery, burning the rest of the day. She really should have gone to see Madam Pomfrey but she Jade easily envisioned the school's nurse informing her it was bad enough she needed to stay in the hospital wing over night and skip playing for the Quidditch championship. Jade was not about to let that happen so has suffered in silence, soothing her eye with some ice and a cool cloth. She can see Madam Pomfrey AFTER the game has ended, hopefully with a Ravenclaw victory.

The quaffle retrieved, referee Flora Lynch puts it back into play by handing it over to Jack as Ravenclaw had had the ball when either Gus or Caerwyn managed to knock it out of bounds. Jade had thought a foul would be called but she's one of the many players who has not yet memorized however many of the possible 700 fouls are known to the public. Jade has often wondered of those not known to the public thanks to the Department of Magical Games and Sports, what exactly are they? She does know that some of them involve wands, which once players were allowed to carry but were outlawed hundreds of years ago. Maybe one day this summer she'll sit down and learn more of the fouls that are listed in some of the books she has.

Jade, no longer stretched out over her broom, zips around to one of the bludgers as Jack passes off the quaffle to Alastor who in turns throws to Ramona. Ramona shoots away, quaffle tucked in close as Jade bats the bludger into Jasper's path. Every time she gets a glimpse of Jasper, which is quite a lot during something like a Quidditch match they're both playing in, Jade can't help but wonder if Jasper might like her. Every time she gets such thoughts about Jasper or any other boy she just wants to kick herself. Jade does not want to become one of those boy crazed ninnies who go around with hearts in their eyes and their brains turned to mush.

The bludger slows Jasper, though he does avoid getting hit by it. Him slowing somewhat means he's not right there when Ramona throws to Jack. He zig zags down the field, maneuvering around Hufflepuff chasers, one seeker, and Aderyn whose reached the other bludger. Jade is headed for the one she'd recently hit but has to hold back when Gus, who is also very cute - stop that Jade! - gets to the bludger first.

Alastor has the quaffle now, him taking possession something Jade missed when she'd turned her back to some of the action to go after the bludger. Gus aims for Alastor but he far enough away that Jade can do something about it. Jade hurries after the bludger, thinking not only to redirect it from Alastor but to harry Marlow with it because Marlow is trying to prevent Ramona from assisting Alastor.

In the short time it takes Jade to intercept the Gus hit bludger, Alastor has thrown for a goal but Glori turned the ball back. Sadie gets it only to lose her grip on the quaffle, allowing her sister to grab the ball away. Ramona's position is angled badly from the hoops so she lobs the ball to Jack. In turn, Jack hurls the ball at the hoops. Glori makes a dive to stop it, making contact with the quaffle but not with enough force to halt it altogether.

The shot is good, putting Ravenclaw in a twenty point lead over Hufflepuff with a score of 30 to 10.
