Visions
Author: Jet
Date:   03-17-07 20:06

Doing a half lean, half sit against the wall directly opposite the entrance to the Headmaster's office, Jet can't decide if he wants to speak with Professor Dumbledore now or put it off. He shouldn't put it off but at the same time Jet doesn't want to go through another round of trying to determine what's wrong with him.

At the beginning of the month Jet had only spoken to Dumbledore, Professor Sacheverelle, and Madam Pomfrey because he'd had an excrutiating headache that wouldn't go away. There's no headache this time but all day he keeps having visions, sort of like he's daydreaming. It's as though the shadow person he's seen before is wanting to make sure Jet hasn't forgotten him.

Jet has been trying to remember what the presence felt like during the time it had hold of him. He would have thought that since for him that time is still very relatively recent, he would remember it better. With this though it's as if the three years he was in limbo have affected his memory.

Jet pushes away from the wall thinking to sleep on it and see if he has any real dreams. Maybe it's time he stop trying to run from the dreams and face the shadow man head on. Walking quickly away lest Professor Dumbledore catches him lurking outside the office, Jet goes to Hufflepuff House to sit in his room to review for his only class tomorrow, Divination.

Post
Author: Carys
Date:   03-18-07 08:23

Carys had the morning off from McMerlin's and so passed the time playing with Tristan and doing chores around the house. There was never a lazy day in Carys' life anymore, not because she couldn't afford to sit and relax but because she didn't want to be a burden on her grandparents. She knew all too well that they didn't have to let her stay with them, although she knew that neither minded in the least. In fact, they were happy to have their only granddaughter and great grandson living with them.

Mairwen was currently in the kitchen baking fresh rolls and loaves of bread. Alun sat in his armchair in the living room and mended fishing line. He, along with some of his other elderly friends, had taken up fishing the Muggle way many years ago.

As Carys scooped a giggling Tristan up off the floor, she spotted through the window an owl heading towards the house. It wasn't an owl she knew, and it carried a large parcel.

"Post is coming," Carys announced.

From his armchair Alun said, "Tend to the owl, will you dear?"

"Yes, grandfather," Carys said. She turned Tristan in her arms so that he could look out the window and see the approaching owl. He squealed gleefully and clapped his little hands together.

When it approached the window, Carys shifted Tristan onto one of her hips and used her free hand to open the window. A cool, though not too cold breeze entered the house along with the owl, who gently deposited the parcel onto the end table near the window.

Mairwen came out of the kitchen and took Tristan into her arms. He tried to make a grab for the owls face, but she gently took his fingers into one of her comparatively larger hands and told him to be careful with the sharp beaks of owls. They could hurt!

Carys, meanwhile, looked at the return adressed printed in the top left corner of the parcel. It was from the French Ministry of Magic, specifically, the auror office there.

She just assumed it was something belonging to her father that he'd wanted her to have and almost didn't see the urgency in opening the package, but Mairwen told her she had no reason to wait. It could be something important, after all.

Carys tore into the brown paper and had Mairwen use her wand to cut through the tape on the box. Since Carys was still a minor, she couldn't use magic outside of Hogwarts, which of course had meant that she'd been doing everything the Muggle way for quite some time now.

She opened the box and found first a letter. It was written in English by a one of the French aurors who'd been assigned to the case during which Jean Beauvais had been arrested. The letter said that the investigation into the entire saga had been completed and that Carys was the rightful owner of the vials included in the parcel. She could do what she willed with them.

Her hand shook as she set aside the letter and lifted a smaller, wooden box from the cardboard one. She lifted the lid and couldn't help but gasp. Inside were rows and rows of small vials of blood, each labeled with the name Owain Hanham-Beauvais.

Much to Do
Author: Ariella Beck
Date:   03-18-07 10:29

Ariella rose early and showered and dressed before any of her roommates stirred. She only had two classes today, Arithmancy first thing in the morning and Astronomy late that evening. Despite the large gap of time during the day, during which she could catch up on sleep and relax, she knew she would have to put every effort into working on assignments, projects, and even squeeze in a few laps around the Quidditch pitch in anticipation of the Broom Racing SAT. She also had the Spelling Bee coming up and wanted to practice charms. Perhaps she would pay Professor Flitwick a visit during his office hours.

She left the Hufflepuff common room, which had been virtually deserted as many students were still in bed while the rest were either already in the Great Hall or perhaps nestled in a study room in the library. O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. season was definitely upon Hogwarts. Ariella had already witnessed one breakdown yesterday during lunch in the Great Hall. The poor girl, a fifth year, had had to been carried to the Hospital Wing with the Mobilicorpus spell.

Ariella was thankful that she didn't have either major exam this year. Having to deal with those as well as all the assignments in her N.E.W.T. classes and the various SAT events for which she'd been chosen to participate was more than enough to handle. She didn't know how some of the other students managed it all.

To Ariella's surprise, she found Alanna already sitting at the Hufflepuff table, chewing slowly on a piece of raspberry syrup-covered waffle she'd just put in her mouth. An owl had already arrived for the Beck girls, bringing them a letter from home. Alanna was reading it when Ariella sat down beside her.

"Morning," Ariella said cheerfully. "What's that?"

"Mail from home," Alanna replied. "It's about the funeral arrangements."

"Oh," Ariella said, her good mood dampening slightly. "What is it, then?"

"The funeral will be on Saturday morning. We're to ask Professor Miller if we can go home for it."

"I'm sure we'll have permission," Ariella murmured, helping herself to a waffle and blueberry syrup.

She felt really awful for Katherine, who'd lost the only family she'd ever known to have. At least she'd been able to learn the truth about her father's family before Margaret's death. Now she had grandparents and four siblings, so she wasn't completely alone. Still, Ariella knew that Katherine must be feeling quite awful. Margaret had been the closest person in her life. Ariella herself couldn't imagine what it would be like to lose a mother, even though she'd lost hers when she was young. She didn't really remember her mum all that well.

"Want to go to the Pitch later for some flying?" Alanna said, cutting into Ariella's thoughts.

"Yeah," Ariella said, grateful for the change in topic.

"I have a two hour break between Ancient Runes and Herbology," Alanna said, "but then I'm booked all afternoon. I'm afraid it might be too cold if we wait until after 5, since the sun will be setting then."

"Then why don't we meet out at the Pitch at 10:30 after our first classes?" Ariella suggested.

"All right," Alanna agreed.

They finished their breakfasts and then headed off to their classes.

Brent Trentson
Author: Lysander Stratford
Date:   03-18-07 10:51

Brent Trentson had tracked down every last bit of Sebastian Taite, with the exception of the pieces that had been used up in potions or rituals or otherwise destroyed. What remained of the fallen rockstar had been collected and currently sat in the morgue at St. Mungo's under lock and key. The mortuary healers had been charged to study the body parts as part of the investigation into the wizard's death.

In finding Taite's mutilated body, Brent had managed to shut down many establishments that had dealing with black market items. Human body parts were, for the most part, illegal to buy and sell. Included in the list of shoppes Brent had closed was the Apoteca Thaumaturga in Knockturn Alley, where he'd first located parts of Taite, including his eyes, his teeth, a few of his fingers, several toes, and both kidneys.

Brent had even made a few high profile arrests, including that of Hans Widowmaker, who'd been operating a huge warehouse of human body parts in Portsmouth. Yes, Brent had done quite well in discovering the truth about Sebastian Taite––that he hadn't gone missing but had been killed––but one fact still remained elusive. Who committed the heinous crime?

Had Taite had enemies, or had he simply run into a pyschotic fan who'd wanted a piece of him, so to speak? At the time of his death, he'd no longer been at the height of his success. He'd fallen from his pedestal amid scandal, but the one person Brent could think of who may have committed the crime, had it been done in passion, was long dead? So again, the question remained... who had done it?

Brent made the decision to begin conducting interviews, and he thought he'd start with the people who'd reported him missing, rockstars Captain Electron and his Muggle girlfriend Andrea Murray.

Algiers, Algeria: Evidence
Author: Nymphadora Tonks
Date:   03-19-07 07:50

The raid on the W&W Bank in Algiers went off without a hitch, though there had been at least one close call when one of the tellers had managed to disarm an Algerian auror providing backup to Tonks. That issue had been resolved rather quickly, and Tonks and her colleagues had managed to keep up the guise of robbing the bank while Mila and her team unraveled the mysteries within the building, namely the location of the Algerian office of the Resistance.

In the end, Mila found it and more, allowing for the entire team of aurors in the building to move in and make several arrests, including those of the banker Mila and Tonks had spoken to on several occasions, several Resistance members, and the leader of the Algerian office himself.

Presently, Tonks, Mila, and others from the Algerian Ministry were in the offices of the Resistance collecting evidence that might lead to other offices around the globe. From letter heads found among the paperwork, Tonks learned that the Algerian office was #9. Tonks knew there were at least 12 offices around the world, since the Cape Town branch had been #12.

"I found something," Mila said suddenly, from across the room. Pinned against a wall that was completely covered in materials, mainly parchment pieces with notes or important bits of information, was a spider map, half buried by some of the other items on the wall. Mila started to clear away the materials covering the map as Tonks approached.

"It's a map," Tonks murmured. She placed an index finger on the circle with the name Algiers in it. There were three other circles around it, two of equal sizes to the one like the Algiers circle, and one slightly larger. The two small circles contained the words Paris and Taipei in them. The large one said London.

Mila cleared away a last piece of parchment to reveal the title of the map: POSSIBLE RESISTANCE OFFICES it read in Arabic.

She translated it for Tonks and said, "I thought all the offices would be connected, but perhaps the knowledge of where they all are and how many exist is strictly on a need to know basis and known to a select few. I will interview the leader of this operation and see what he knows."

Tonks continued to look at the map on the wall. "I'd like a copy of that."

"Sure," Mila said. "I guess after your work here is done you will go after the next one?" She eyed the circle that said London. "Looks like you may have one close to home."

"I've heard rumors before that there was one in London but I have no idea where. Do you think because the circle is bigger than the others that it may be the headquarters for the entire organization?" she asked Mila.

"It's certainly possible," Mila began, "but it is only a hand-drawn map. It's not necessarily to scale."

Mila certainly had a point. Tonks took the map down from the wall and set it with the items they would take from the building before continuing to search the place for more evidence that would point to more offices around the world.

Nightmares
Author: Thessily
Date:   03-19-07 08:45

“Thessily..” I heard my beautiful mother’s voice call my name. “Thessily.” She said again more urgently and I opened my eyes. There was that warm breeze again and that beautiful blue sky. I felt warm, and happy, light and airy. As if I was floating in the clouds. I looked down, expecting to see the clouds. But I didn’t see any. Instead, I saw the greenest grass you could ever see. Beautiful trees with pink and purple flowers. Palm trees. Even apple trees. There was a river next to the road I walked on, that was as crystal clear as the sky. It was then, I realized there was no way I was in Greece or even in England.

I blinked and rubbed my eyes. Was I in a dream? It had to be a dream. I walked through a beautiful grove and into a clearing. Standing at the edge of the clearing, I looked down to find a pond in front of me. I frowned. Was I making all this happen? I wondered.

Just as I turned around, a small boat suddenly appeared. I climbed in and began to row to the middle of the pond. As I drew closer to the other side of the pond; I noticed that a small temple appeared. I sat there in the boat letting it just float. How was this happening? I wondered as I rowed towards the temple.

“Thessily.” I heard the voice say again when I neared the temple. I let the boat come to the edge of the pond and stepped out onto the ground. “ Thessily.”

I followed the voice and walked into the temple. But instead of finding my mother, standing there in the middle of the temple was the man who had kidnapped me. I screamed and backed away.

Suddenly, I woke up to find myself in a hospital. I whimpered seeing the needles and liquid containers near the end table by my bed. Pulling up my covers over my head I crawled towards the bottom part of my bed.

“Thessily?” I heard another voice say and I whimpered again thinking that voice would end up being my captor. “Thessily?” The voice said more gently. I saw a hand move my covers off of me and I gasped keeping my eyes closed. Not wanting to see my kidnapper. “ Thessily..” The voice said again and this time I finally opened my eyes to see my uncle. “ Oh Thessily..” He whispered gently and touched my forward. “Everything is going to be alright.” He said softly pulling me up into his arms and cuddling me into him.

I opened my eyes and stared up at him blinking a little. My eyes still weren’t used to light. I still expected him to turn into my kidnapper. But he didn’t. And he was holding me. And he was crying. I stared up at him and gulped. I tried to talk. But nothing would come out. Instead, I lay in my uncle’s big arms. And just let the tears fall down my cheeks.

Is she going to be alright
Author: Eleanor BlackThorn
Date:   03-19-07 09:27

“Is she going to be alright?” I asked the nurse who only shook her head.

“It’s still far to soon to tell. I’ve done all I can with her injuries and they are healing very well. The only problem is, I don’t know how she is doing mentally. And that is the real problem. We need to help her deal with this. “ The nurse said gently as I crossed my arms trying to keep my temper in check.

“Will she be able to return to school?” I asked knowing how important it had been to my niece to return back to school this semester, It was her sixth year. She had to get ready for her last year at Hogwarts and figure out what she was going to be.

The nurse only shook her head no once again and I felt my temper flaring. “I don’t know Mrs. Blackthorn.” She replied. “I just don’t know.” She said shaking her head as she put her hands in her pockets and walked away. I turned to look into the room where my niece was. My husband was holding her. She was crying. I closed my eyes and leaned up against the wall. This happened because I didn’t want to stay with Shane. I thought as I walked away from the room. I was going to find Shane. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do to him when I found him. But he was going to know, that he had messed with the wrong Death Eater. I thought.

Sinister Voices in the Dark
Author: Shane Reimann
Date:   03-19-07 10:09

Shane needed a few things and he disapparated from the farmhouse to Knockturn Alley. He walked along slowly watching everyone yet seeing no one. He shook his head as the anger of what Eleanor had done to him clouded his mind once again. He forced himself to focus on where he was going and what he was doing, he didn't know where Eleanor was but he knew that when they found Thessily they were going to come after him; for that matter they might even send Aurors after him. The thought of Aurors didn't thrill him but he'd been up against them before and he could do it again.

He continued to walk sticking close to the shadows in a small effort to hide himself. He turned the corner and started towards the shoppe at the end of the Alley. He needed some more herbs and things for potions, things you couldn't find in your average herb shoppe. He walked a few feet and then heard a noise somewhere behind him. Slowly he slipped into the shadows again and turned to see what had caused the noise.

"No use hiding..." a sinister voice drawled. "Come out and face me!"

Shane knew who it was he had drawn her out into the open and an evil grin drew itself across his face. "I warned you that no one leaves me until I tell them they can go." His voice was smooth and low, there was no emotion in it. He felt no emotions or feelings towards the woman before him. He certainly didn't love her nor did he care anything about her it was just the simple fact that she had disobeyed him...and no one did that and got away with it.

"So I suppose you're not here to have more fun?" Shane smirked and then let off a bark of laughter. He saw the anger grow in Eleanor's face and her hand slipped into the pocket of her robes. "Now, now Eleanor...no getting your wand just yet. I thought we were just having a friendly conversation?" He laughed again.

Her face contorted and her hand moved again and she drew her wand, but before she could utter her curse Shane pulled his wand from within his robes and yelled, "Crucio!"
