"Please tell me you aren't eating grass flavored Bertie Bott's.." Driz said as she dropped down next to me when she got to the Common Common room after dinner.

"Nope, they are key lime, I won't eat the grass ones unless I'm dared to and it's worth it." I said with a smirk, turning to kiss her lightly.

"Good, because I think that would be a relationship ending action." Driz said, clearly teasing as she kissed him in return and cuddled into him on the loveseat that they usually claimed on Friday evenings.

I laughed and handed her a cherry bean and sighed lightly.

"So how was your afternoon?"

"Well enough, spent the afternoon with a couple of others who had formed a study group for the Herbology owl, and then took a shower and a short nap before dinner."

"Well, sounds like you had a decent enough day. I'll probably spend most of tomorrow working on homework, and getting things done so I'm not falling behind. Besides I've got Alchemy homework that is probably going to take a little while for me to get done."

"Alright then, we'll meet for lunch then? I'm probably going to be going to Course Day, considering taking Alchemy next year, and I'm also considering dropping a course or two depending on what my OWL scores are, because course loads like this are driving me a touch barmy."

I nodded and wrapped my arm around her, holding her against me, mindful of the wandering professors and prefects, and was quite careful about the limiting of the public displays of affection. We ultimately ended up sharing a large chocolate cupcake filled with a raspberry filling, topped with a chocolate ganache, and cream cheese frosting. We also paired it with a mug each of white hot chocolates with whipped cream.

I walked her to the dungeons about forty minutes before curfew and gave her a chaste kiss goodnight and told her I'd see her for breakfast in the morning, before I shuttered myself in the library to get homework done.

(Aderyn Carter) Family Time

"I can't believe someone would do that." I said, as I sat down on the steps next to Angharad, hugging her with one arm, before breaking off a piece of chocolate chip cookie and sharing it with her.

"I know, who knows what in the hell she was thinking..." Angharad said with a sigh, taking the cookie and eating it little bit by little bit.

"Have you talked to Mum and Dad yet about the roses she sent?"

"Yeah, they thought it was horrid too, and that note was what made it worse. I mean, if she really is the reason that mum is dead, why would she think that would make me feel any better?"

I shrugged and finished off my half of the cookie, brushing off some crumbs from my robe and leaning back against the steps.

"I can't even begin to imagine how you are feeling, but if you want someone to vent to, just let me know, kay? It really sucks being so far behind all of you, but you are still family."

Angharad smiled and hugged her youngest half-sibling and kissed the top of her head.

"Thanks kiddo. Out of everyone, you and Evan are the only ones that actually treat me like family. Though, honestly, Cai and Broderick have gotten better, and your mum is nicer too, but that might be because she doesn't have to constantly worry about my nutty mum causing trouble."

I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "Mum never hated your mum. She just didn't understand why she never got help for her issues and got herself better so she could start taking better care of you."

Angharad opened her mouth to protest, but I stopped her.

"Your mum had her issues, we all know she did. Ever since she got out of that relationship with what's his face, she's been depressed and acting kinda weird. Mum and Dad both kept encouraging her to go see a psychiatric healer, and dad almost had her convinced last year before you came home...even got her to go to one appointment, that was as far as she was willing to go..."

I shifted lightly, to turn and face my half-sister. "Before you got home from Hogwarts last year, she would only be around for a couple of hours each day. Most of the time she'd be gone, and anytime someone asked her where she'd been she would simply say that it was none of their business. I'm not telling you this to ruin the memories you have of your mum, I'm really not."

Angharad sighed and pushed a hand through her hair.

"I guess I just kept ignoring the fact that she was getting worse when I saw it. But, before that fight at Christmas she really seemed to be doing better, and was actually acting really, really normal. Then the fight started and she ran."

I thought about saying something, but kept my mouth shut, not sure if Angharad was gonna continue or not.

"I..." she sighed, and pushed herself up, "I'm gonna go hang out with a couple of friends. Thank you for being an awesome sister. I'll talk to your mum and dad when we head home for Easter Hols."

"Alright. Tell Perla I said hello."

Angharad headed to her own common room, and I pushed up, grabbing my bag and headed to the Library, needing to grab a book or two for my assignments before heading back to Ravenclaw to get some work done.

Home Early
Author: Harry Potter
Date:   06-07-13 19:44

After working the equivalent of double shifts for nearly two weeks, partially due to several in law enforcement being out sick, Harry is glad to be home early for a change. He's been putting in some much time on cases, including one that has required some late night undercover work in Muggle Birmingham, that he's had to put his study of those dark arts books on hold. Ginny is not the least bit unhappy about that because while Harry hasn't been able to be home all that much at least the reason is work and not because he's staying at the Ministry when his work has ended just so he can spend time going over those books.

Walking across the backyard to the kitchen door Harry stops to check on Hedwig in the small shed-like building that serves as her owlery, spending a few minutes with her, before continuing on to the house. There, he's greeted by Pixie, their Irish Setter mix. She dances around his feet, nearly tripping him in the process. He ends up kneeling down to give her a belly rub before making his way from the kitchen, deciding not to call out to Ginny in case Jamie's napping. The baby can sleep through most anything but for some reason will wake up in a heartbeat if either Harry or Ginny talk loudly enough, such as if calling out to the other from a different room.

He finds Ginny in the sitting room with a very awake Jamie as she changes a nappy. He leans in to give Ginny a kiss and then tickles Jamie on the stomach. The baby gives a squealing gurgle, chubby legs kicking out. "Is that the outfit Aunt Petunia gave you? A little dressed up for lounging around the house or are you already dating."

Jamie just gurgles happily again and Ginny explains, "Mum and I decided to take Jamie for an official portrait. We took a few different outfits and Aunt Petunia's was just the last one we put him in. I still can't believe she not only sent something but sent something that's actually nice and very cute."

"Maybe Dudley and Mei put her up to it, but how knows with her."

Harry shifts to take Jamie from Ginny but she stops in the process of handing the baby over. "I hate to ask since you just got home but would you mind running to that Muggle shoppe just down the way and picking up the makings for a salad while I finish getting dinner and get this guy fed?"

"Sure. What else do we need?"

"Just the salad makings I think. I've got lasagna baking and thought I'd do up some garlic bread as well."

"Lasagna. That's what smells so good. Okay, I shouldn't be long."

Pixie follows Harry to the front door, her soulful brown eyes cutting to the leash hanging from one of the coat hooks. He pats her head and promises, "We'll go for one of those things after we've eaten."

The expression on Pixie's face has Harry feeling guilty as he leaves but as the shoppe isn't all that far and he doesn't like the idea of having to leave her tied outside while he's getting the lettuce, tomato, onion, and whatever else he sees that looks good for a salad to go with lasagna and garlic bread, it's really better to wait and take her for a longer walk here in a bit.

Harry walks down the flagstone path to the lane, stepping across the bounds of the front yard after making sure no Muggles are around to notice someone seemingly appearing out of thing air. He stops, gives a shake of his head and checks his pockets to make sure he's got Muggle money on him. After verifying he does have Muggle money and enough pounds to buy what he needs for the salad, Harry turns in the direction of the nearby Muggle grocer's. He pauses again when he hears an owl screech, looking up and turning to see where the owl is and if it's coming his way.

The large barn owl approaches, gradually getting lower, a small box held in its talons. At first Harry thinks it's going to another of the houses scattered along Grove's End but the owl dips lower and aims straight for Harry. It drops the package as it nears. Its aim is slightly off and the box ends up several feet from Harry. As he approaches to pick it up from the ground, the package makes a strange noise, bursting in a bright flash of light, an explosion cracking through the air.

Briefly Breaking The Silence
Author: Errol
Date:   06-08-13 18:28

As Ancient Runes ends Errol takes his time packing up, the last one to leave the classroom other than Professor Hodfuffer. Stepping into the hallway he's not overly surprised to find Megara lingering. He walks by her without acknowledgement, going towards the Great Hall like most everyone else. Megara heaves the sigh of the much put upon and falls into step beside him.

What does surprise him is that today she does not break the silence until nearly to the Great Hall. Usually, she almost immediately starts in on him. "You can't ignore me forever." "I didn't send the owl." "I know a spell that will make you talk to me." "I know where you sleep." That sort of thing.

Today she takes an entirely different tack. "I'm considering not coming back in the fall."

Errol gives her a look she can't read but says nothing. As they walk through the large double doors into the Great Hall she explains though she knows she doesn't need to. "I'm starting to think that I should make my exit from here when I would have if not for Happy Haven."

Errol nods but still says nothing. The nod is only because of Megara's habit of sharply poking him to make sure he's listening.

He goes to the nearest empty seat at the Ravenclaw table. There's not an empty seat on either side but Megara doesn't let that hinder her from sitting next to him. She nudges the lower year sitting to his left, looks pointedly at the next space down, then offers him a bright, aren't you sweet smile when she takes the now vacated spot.

Selecting the chicken and dumplings she asks, "Nothing to say about me not being here in the fall?"

Errol hadn't been going to say a word, just as he hasn't for days, no matter what she's said to him or how sharply she's jabbed him with one of her fingernails. He has no idea why then he flatly replies, "If you aren't here, then I won't have to worry about someone breaking my trust."

He can feel Megara's glare and there's a definite undercurrent of heat in her words. "You broke a promise, not me; and, keep in mind that I have not sent that owl. Yet."

Errol stands, shouldering her bookbag then reaches for his plate and cup. "Send it. I don't care anymore."

Moving to another seat further down the table Errol fully expects one of his new table mates to make a crack about his girlfriend woes. It wouldn't be the first time since the disagreement with Megara, enough so that he doesn't even bother with the rote denial of, "She's not my girlfriend." Anyway, that often just got him a snigger of, "Not anymore, she's not."

Not really hungry any longer but he'd missed breakfast and he's got class until nearly five, he forces down a roast beef sandwich, from time to time casting surreptitious glances to where Megara has moved to sit by a couple of her roommates. She's exasperated enough with him now that she might actually send the owl to Uncle Ross. Errol reaches down to touch his book bag, assuring himself that he's ready to make a run for it if needed. He's got clothes and a few other things packed. If he has to leave Hogwarts, it will be on his own terms.

Stubborn Husbands Are Exasperating
Author: Ginny Weasley
Date:   06-09-13 13:46

Molly, trailed by Arthur, hurries along the hall, scanning room numbers as she goes. She slows only when she sees Ginny, changing direction to join her daughter in the small waiting area. "Ginny! You should have contacted us yesterday," Molly chastises even as she sweeps the younger woman into a hug.

"Hi, Mum. Dad." Ginny returns her mother's hug then gives one to her father before explaining, "I didn't see the point in pulling you away from the Dankworths' when there wasn't anything you could do other than come sit."

"Don't be silly. Being here was more important than being there," Molly chides.

"You were coming back this morning anyway so I didn't see why you needed to be dragged away from friends you'd been looking forward to spending a few days with, especially when all you'd do here is sit and worry."

Molly looks as if she's about to argue but Arthur chooses that moment to ask, "How is Harry?"

"He's fine. He was burned in some spots, singed in others. Had a few broken bones. Lots of bruises and contusions. The potions they've been giving him since yesterday afternoon have done a lot of healing, so much so Harry claims he's fine and wants to leave. The healers want him to stay at least two more days. Harry's been argumentative and stubborn. That's why I was standing out here. I needed a break from it. Besides that, Kingsley doesn't want word out that Harry's even conscious much less is ready to go back to work."

Arthur nods at Ginny's words. "Let whomever is behind the explosion think the bomb did its work. That has a certain sense to it."

"Yes, but try explaining that to Harry. Ron's actually in there right now trying to do just that."

Molly asks, "Have anyone determined who's behind it?"

"That cousin of Drucilla's she's told us about, Vasilka, is a suspect. Adriana is another."

"Do you really think she'd harm her own cousin? Possibly her only relative?"

Ginny gives a small, one shoulder shrug. "She killed Professor Dumbledore. I'm not sure it's that much of a stretch to think she might want to do Harry harm, even if they are cousins. He killed Voldemort. I can very well see her wanting some sort of revenge." She shrugs again then says, "Why don't you both go in. Maybe you can get him to listen to reason."

Arthur gives Ginny's arm a squeeze then follows Molly into Harry's room where he has no doubt she will lecture him as if she'd given birth to him. She may not have, but Molly and Arthur both consider Harry family, have done so for many years, long before he ever married their daughter.

Alone again for the time being, Ginny takes a moment to sit down and close her eyes then decides to go see if Hermione needs help bringing coffee from the tearoom. Maybe she'll also stick her head in the nearest floo to check on Jamie who Luna was nice enough to offer to babysit. She gives a glance at the hospital room door behind which her parents have just vanish, and hopes that between them and Ron, Harry will finally stop being so bloody stubborn and listen for a change.

(Diana) Meeting Laura
Author: Diana Clarisse Thatcher
Date:   06-09-13 16:39

The Great Hall seems to have really many students. Some are reading, some are eating, some are doing homework rather than go to the library. The Great Hall is the most marvelous place for me. This is one of the places where students do their homework, and also chat to some of their friends other than at the library which is a rather solitary place.
I wonder if some of the students here, like me, don't like the solitary quietness of the library.

I sat on the table, pulled out my parchment and started writing something. I pulled down my Charms book, "The Standard Book of Spells". I decided to read it sometime and practice some spells. Then everything went black.

"Guess who am I?" A voice said sounded happy.

"Galadriel!! Stop it this instance! " I said giggling and he took off his hands from my eyes.

"You really know me, Ms. Diana.! That's what I like about you, my best friend!" He beamed.

"OK! how are you? I mean why are you so happy and excited?" I said looking at him.

"Guess what? My daddy gave me something!" He was holding up packages of chocolate frogs. I think they were three.

"Wow! I can't believe it, three packages?" Yeah. I know how he really likes eating them, those chocolate frogs of his and collecting the cards.

"How many cards do you have now?" I asked.

"Many." He said. "Dumbledore again? I already have nine of them!"

"Dumbledore? Can I have some? I don't have much of them." Suddenly, there's a voice beside us. We stared at her.

"I'm sorry, I'm Laura Simpson, 1st year Ravenclaw." She held up her hands for us to shake.

"Nice meeting you! I am Diana, 1st year Gryffindor, and this is Galadriel, 2nd year Gryffindor as well. We are best friends."

"So, Laura, do you like chocolate frogs as well as collecting the cards?"

"Yes, I do!" She exclaimed.

"Laura, I think we have few classes together, I think I remember you from one of them!"

"Let's see, Charms, Transfiguration, and Fitness and Athletics?" I said.

"Yes, I remember seeing you in those classes."

"So what other cards do you want to swap me for these Dumbledore cards?" That was Galadriel.

"Sorry about that, ok how about Merlin?" She said holding up the cards.

She got the cards. She was happy about it.

"Thanks for the cards and meeting the two of you. Maybe we could spend time together, the three of us sometime. We can owl each other or see each other in class. Bye."

"Bye." We both said in unison. "Don't forget to owl us."

"Bye."
