Plymouth vs Cardiff
Author: Isolde
Date:   09-07-07 09:07

The great clock that ticked down the time remaining in the Little League Quidditch match annoyed Isolde to no end. She saw it constantly, even when she wasn't looking directly at it. The Plymouth Polliwogs were losing badly to the Cardiff Cubs. It would take an absolute miracle for the Polliwogs to achieve victory, and time simply wasn't on their side this afternoon.

Across the pitch, the Cubs' coach Briony Carnegie grinned smugly at Isolde. Isolde felt like hexing the other woman but didn't want to get ejected from the game for doing something childish. Besides, she had to act like a good role model for the kids. She didn't want to set a bad example and have them decide to launch themselves at the Cardiff kids, who all seemed bigger and badder themselves. Isolde almost thought they had an unfair advantage. Her kids were small or average in size, not hulking monsters like Cardiff's.

A sharp tone echoed through the arena. Isolde tried to look dignified but was an extremely sore loser. She looked up at her kids, who all looked rather disappointed for having lost their first game and by so large a margin. They flew down to Isolde's side. Some of the girls were almost crying.

"You played a good game, all of you," Isolde said to them. They had played well, she couldn't deny it. Cardiff had simply played better and to a certain extent, dirtier. "Be proud of yourselves that you stuck out this match and played strong till the end. I'm proud of you. Now, let's do the right thing and congratulate the other team."

They reluctantly marched out onto the field to shake the hands of the other players. Isolde trudged over to Briony and offered her hand.

"Good game."

Briony flashed her a big smile. "Thanks. With a bit more practice, I'm sure you guys may one day measure up to us."

Isolde grit her teeth together in an effort to keep from saying something she shouldn't. She made sure all her kids had endured the good sportsmanship tradition of congratulating the winning team and then ushered them off the field so that they could get comforted by their families. Isolde herself sought out Pyrrhus and collapsed into his embrace. Oh, how she hated losing!

Marzi and Weston had returned to Scotland after the funeral. Marzi's quarters at Hogwarts weren't small but she didn't have enough room for all the boxes she'd brought with her from Australia, so Weston took some to his place. At some point, Marzi would sort through everything properly and decide what she wanted to keep and what she could get rid of.

Weston himself had taken it upon himself to help his family bring Constantius' body back to England. He had no great love for his father after everything, but knowing that it would please Carolina and Marius made it easier for him to lend his assistance. Funeral arrangements had been made quickly. Constantius would be laid to rest at St. James' Park Wizarding Mausoleum later this evening.

At first, Georgia didn't extend an invitation to the funeral to Marzi and had only reluctantly done so to Weston. She blamed both for her lover's ultimate demise. In the end, however, she changed her mind. Weston would go to see his father buried. Marzi would go to support her boyfriend and her half siblings.

She spent a long time trying to decide what to wear. The evening was growing long and soon it would be time to go to the mausoleum. She debated between a set of robes and a Muggle-style dress. In the end, she put on the dress, slipped on a pair of heels and wrapped a simple string of pearls around her neck. Because it was cool, she put a wrap around her shoulders before setting out for Hogsmeade.

Once past the Hogwarts grounds, Marzi disapparated for London. A small crowd was gathered outside the mausoleum. She went to Carolina and Marius first and offered them her condolences. They felt awkward about their father's death, knowing he had killed Marzi's father in a fit of rage before killing himself. Marzi didn't fault them for missing their dad though. She gave a stiff apology to her mother and then went to Weston, who slid his arms around her shoulder.

Once everyone had gathered who was supposed to attend the funeral, they went inside and paid their final respects to Constantius Ravenscroft.

Birthday Party
Author: Ethan Somerset
Date:   09-07-07 15:51

Alton Towneley lived in Whitchurch village with his wife Jessica and their children Joshua, Liam, Oliver and Emily. He worked as a stock broker for the London Stock Exchange. Hardly a day went by without his mobile ringing, even on his off days. Alton loved his job, even though there were days when he didn't have a moment's peace from it.

His wife didn't have a job but she kept herself very busy caring for the children who were all under the age of ten. The youngest and the only daughter Emily turned two today. Her mother had arranged for her to have a birthday party this afternoon.

All the Towneleys had come to the party, including Ethan, who come bearing a teddy bear with a lovely red bow around its neck for his niece. She'd given it a good squeeze upon receiving it but then discarded it for something pink and shiny.

The party was just now winding down. Ethan had had two slices of cake (vanilla with white and pink icing on top) and a giant bowl of chocolate ice cream. He sat now with Emily on his lap, who clapped her hands together and watched the many bracelets she wore jingle jangle against her wrists.

"Tell me, Ethan," Jessica said, sitting down next to Ethan on the sofa in her living room. "Is there someone special in your life?"

"Are you asking if I have a special lady friend?" Ethan asked, with a grin.

Jessica laughed. "Yes. Well, do you?"

"No, but there is someone I fancy a little bit. She's just not very attainable right now."

"Married?"

"No, no."

"Coworker, or boss?"

"Neither. She's just in a place that makes dating impossible right now."

He was thinking about Rosamond Boggs, whom Ethan had long-thought he'd like to date if she ever got out of Azkaban. Somehow, he thought her chances of getting out were slim to none these days. Berwyck Oldridge certainly didn't have any interest in letter her or any of the other Project 25ers out, though they had certainly done their time.

"Is she a... witch?" Jessica asked, hoping she'd gotten the terminology right. She was still very surprised by Ethan's big news but had accepted it like the rest of the family had.

"She is."

Emily turned in Ethan's lap and put her two small hands on either side of his cheek. She pressed a wet kiss to his lips and then said, "Unc E. Teddy."

"Oh, now you want your teddy, do you?" Ethan asked with a smile. Jessica passed the bear in question over. Emily hugged it and then eased herself off her uncle's lap to introduce the bear to some of her other animal friends.

Ethan smiled, watching her go. He hadn't felt like he'd belonged in years, but now he knew he had a real family. There wasn't a better feeling in the world.

After The Workshop
Author: Gabrielle Delacour
Date:   09-07-07 18:06

The flying and Quidditch workshop is ending but Rosalinda, Estella, and Gabrielle remain, stretched out on the sidelines, looking up at the twilit sky. All three are on restriction by their parents, including no permission to go into Hogsmeade. After this mornings pronouncement the girls decided it's just as well they couldn't go into town. Estella and Rosalinda would have had just the hour and a half to get into Hogsmeade, look around, and get back again. Gabby doesn't think she would have wanted to stay once they'd had to leave, even though she could have gone by her sister's house or visited whatever members of the Weasleys were at the joke shop or the day care and activity center.

The girls showed up early for today's workshop, Gabby spending much of the time trying not to overtly stare at Viktor Krum. She knows she could use her Veela charms on him but with her being just 14 at the moment, it's best not to get him in trouble for fraternizing with a student, especially when it wouldn't be of his own doing. Best to wait until she's older and only use her charms on him if she needs to get his attention. Gabby really hopes it doesn't come to that. She wants Viktor to notice her for her and not because she's part Veela.

Gabby also hopes that between now and when she's seventeen, Viktor doesn't fall for someone else. Gabby, nice Hufflepuff that she is, does not want to have to break up a relationship just so she can marry Viktor Krum. And she WILL marry him one day even if he doesn't know that yet.

The ground beneath them is hard and though they have a blanket under them the cold is starting to seep in as the sun goes lower. Estella sighs. "I suppose we should go eat."

"That stupid purple line is really starting to annoy me," Rosalinda gripes. "Then there's yet another concert tonight we can't go to."

"You mean you and I," Estella corrects. "Gabby may go."

"Gabby may but Gabby won't," she informs them. "Have I gone to any yet?"

"No, but there's always a first time," Rosalinda says, turning onto her stomach and cupping her chin in her hands.

"If you two can't go I don't want to, no matter what the band is."

"Not even when it's Fleur's brother-in-law's band?" Estella asks.

"Not even then. Charlie will understand."

Rosalinda pushes up onto her knees. "I think I'm going to see if I can't get a sandwich and take it back to our common room. And if there aren't any sandwiches to be had in the Great Hall, I'll check the common commons. I'm really not in a mood to sit in that dining hall again where I can't even properly sit with all my friends."

Gabby gets up and helps Estella with the blanket saying, "I think I'll get a sandwich as well."

Estella nods in agreement and the three start walking back to the castle.

Wrapping Things Up
Author: Lucius Malfoy
Date:   09-07-07 19:01

Lucius had listened and watched from his stance against the wall. A stance he hoped give every illusion of bored disinterst. He is interested of course but Lucius has always tried not to look overly so.

While Bellatrix and Rodolphus are off conferring, Euphemia attempts to draw Lucius out of from his wall of detachment. "How's that child bride of yours, Lucius?"

"Still breathing unfortunately," Lucius drawls.

"Will she be staying that way?"

Lucius blandly replies, "If she doesn't, it won't be any of my doing."

Euphemia actually laughs. "Good to know."

Bellatrix and Rodolphus return then and after indicating they're going to take Euphemia up on her offers asks, "“What would you require of us in order to facilitate this? No doubt some kind of declaration that we were under a curse, or in the Dark Lord’s thrall?”

Euphemia waves a hand at Lucius. "You took some scrolls of parchment from me I believe."

Lucius hands pages of parchment to Euphemia who arches an eyebrow. "These aren't the ones I had."

"Copies."

"You really have gone the obssessive route today, Lucius," Euphemia states with humor. To the Lestranges she says, "Take this document, read it over. If the document is suitably worded for you, each of you sign a copy and owl them to me. If the wording doesn't suit, write your changes onto the document and owl it to me. I'll read over it and through Lucius let you know if the changes are acceptable on my end."

Bellatrix wordlessly takes the document. Lucius steps away from the wall, pulling a vial from a pocket. With a flick of his wand he empties Euphemia's glass of water then refills it, pouring the potion from the vial into it. "Time to drink up again."

Euphemia shoots him an exasperated look but takes the glass and drinks it down. Half a minute later, Lucius is disapparating with an extremely groggy Euphemia in tow.

Author: Alex Whitmen

Alex was glad to hear Cailyn wasnt going to leave him at Christmas and also he was secretly happy she wasnt going home for Christmas, he smiled and looked down at his tea.

"Why dont you spend Christmas with me? I mean normally its just me and my mom but this year Skyler is going to be there and maybe Jake and Kordelia. I think it'll be fun and I really want you there" he said honestly. He looked up from his tea to her, she smiled at him.

"Okay" she said, a huge grin crossed his face but soon faded once he looked at his watch.

"I gotta get back to school" he said standing, he hated he couldn't stay longer with her, they were having a good time.

"Lets hurry then" she said standing. He shook his head,

"No stay, get your fortune told and tell me all about it. I'll be waiting for you to come back" he said she frowned.

"I dont want to stay here without you" she said, he smiled then kissed her.

"Stay, I want you to enjoy the day. You shouldn't have to go back because of me" Alex said. He headed for the door, he looked back at Cailyn and waved. She waved back, he headed back toward school he needed to talk to his mother, write Kordelia and talk to Skyler before Cailyn came back. He jogged back and barely made it back to school on time.
