Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw
Author: Viktor Krum
Date:   04-14-10 11:25

Shortly before the start of the Gryffindor-Ravenclaw Quidditch match, Theodosia did one last inspection of the game balls before taking them out to the pitch. It's just her for today's game. She'd had someone lined up but he was forced to cancel with twenty minutes left until the start of the match. Family emergency. Theodosia isn't concerned about not being able to handle things alone. She can. Her concern is that with Marjani playing today, she doesn't want there to be any possible way for someone to claim favoritism towards Gryffindor. At this late stage there's not much she can do unless she spots someone in the stands to come watch the match whom she knows capable of being a referee, such as Viktor Krum or Pyrrhus Fine.

This thought has Theodosia scanning the stands again but as with the other times she's looked, she doesn't see anyone suitable. Turning to face the direction of the castle, the direction students and visitors are coming from for the match, Theodosia wonders if the crowd will be larger today than for previous matches this term. With the weather so nice, it's definitely possible.

Her eyes next go to the stands where the today's announcer is already making random comments then her gaze shifts to the locker room doors just in time to see Marjani hurrying out. Calling to her sister, Theodosia starts that way to intercept. With the noise and commentation it takes Theodosia calling out several times before Marjani stops and looks around. Spotting Theodosia she points to the castle and takes several more steps. Theodosia calls out again, motioning Marjani to stay put.

Once within easy earshot she speaks. "The match starts in just a few minutes. Why do you need to go to the castle?"

Marjani taps her right elbow. "Somehow I forgot an elbow pad and didn't see any extras in the locker room. I'm not good enough with the accio spell to bring it from that far away."

"That's what I'm for or your team captain. Ronan probably knows accio well enough for that," Theodosia points out while getting her wand. "Accio Marjani's right elbow pad! Stay right there and it should be down soon. Oh, have you seen Zuberi this morning?"

"No. When I went to breakfast, I sat with some of the team and we talked about the match and game strategy. I didn't pay attention to who else was in the Great Hall. After that I went back to Gryffindor House until time to come to the pitch. Is he in trouble or something?"

"Zuberi's not in trouble, at least not anything I'm aware of. It's just that with his penchant for getting into trouble, I like to know where he is."

"I didn't think he'd done anything in awhile."

"He hasn't but with Zuberi, it's best to stay on one's toes. There's your elbow pad."

Marjani grabs the now hovering uniform piece and, with a thank you thrown over her shoulder, dashes back to the locker room. Checking the time, Theodosia moves back to mid-pitch to where the trunk of balls sits, her eyes scanning the stands. She no sooner has reached the ball trunk when the introductions of teams begins.

"Playing for Gryffindor are Beaters Blake Holloway and Ella Harville, Chasers Etta Wynbourne, Marjani Batuti, and Wiggy Hodfuffer. Seeler Charisma Stone, and Gryffindor captain, Keeper Ronan Eastwick."

The stadium erupts in cheers then when the noise dies down somewhat the oppositing team's players are announced. "Playing for Ravenclaw are Captain and Beater Coco Nutt, Beater Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen, Chasers Deak Bennett, Jack Emerson, and Hadrian Rabnott, Seeker Christopher Chant, and Keeper Daniel Gelson."

After another eruption of cheering, Theodosia gestures for team captains Ronan and Coco to shake hands while reminding all the players she expects a clean game. The players take to the air with the Bludgers and Snitch released then there's the tip-off for the Quaffle. The Chasers converge on it but it's Wiggy who comes out of the skirmish with the red ball tucked tightly against his body.

Good Start For Gryffindor (Marjani)
Author: Viktor Krum
Date:   04-14-10 12:17

Once her elbow pad arrived, Marjani hadn't had much time to think about whether Zuberi might be secretly up to something again or not. She'd had time for little more than getting back to the locker room while at the same time putting on the elbow pad, do a quick check of her uniform again and grab her broom. Then she was sandwiched between Etta and Wiggy flying onto the pitch for the start of the match.

With the Quaffle tip-off Marjani nearly had the ball but Deak Bennett's hand on it caused it to flip away. In less time than it takes to blink, Wiggy Hodfuffer had a firm grip on the Quaffle and was jetting away from the pack. Wiggy moves at lightening speed for Ravenclaw Keeper Daniel Gelson. It all happens to quickly, only Marjani and Deak know that Wiggy's away with the Quaffle. Deak lets out a yell to his fellow Chasers, already himself taking off in hot pursuit. He's slowed somewhat by Marjani, who's trying both give Wiggy time to reach Daniel unimpeded and for Etta Wynbourne to join her in obstructing the Ravenclaw Chasers.

Meanwhile. the Beaters on both teams are already vying for the Bludgers with Coco Nutt just edging out Blake Hollowy for one of them. Coco sends the Bludger on a long curve, Marjani thinks most liking aiming for Wiggy's back seeing that he's already nearly to Daniel. The hard, black ball does overtake Wiggy but instead of a smashing blow to the middle of his back, it clips him on the shoulder. The hit slows him slightly but not much and Wiggy lets the Quaffle go, the ball a red streak.

Daniel is as ready as he's going to be, trying to guage which way the Quaffle will go so he can block it. The Quaffle goes to what Marjani thinks of as being to the right, but which for Daniel would be to the left. He gets in a full body block, stopping the Quaffle, catching the ball and holding it for the Ravenclaw Chaswers to arrive before throwing it back into play. They are all aware of the fact that Daniel can't hold into it for too very long or he'll risk incurring a penalty. This means that Marjani and Etta increase their efforts to slow down the Ravenclaw Chasers. They're joined in their efforts by Wiggy.

They aren't able to delay long enough for the penalty to kick in. Hadrian reaches his cousin and accepts a hand-off from Daniel. Flying towards the other end of the pitch, Hadrian dodges around one of the Bludgers then passes to Jack. Marjani pulls up alongside Jack to harass him, hopefully without causing a foul. She flies parallel to Jack as he dips, climbs, darts around his team's Seeker Christopher Chant, and then as he attempts to pass to Deak.

Marjani makes her move then, getting as close to Jack as she dares, which is pretty darn close, to interfere with the pass. He gets it around her but it's not a good throw and Deak can't get it. The Quaffle drops into free fall with several of the Chasers, Marjani include, diving after it.

Up in the Air (Charisma and Blake)
Author: Charisma Stone
Date:   04-14-10 13:11

Charisma and Blake had sat with some team members this morning in the Great Hall this morning and talked strategy and game play for the match that was soon to start against Ravenclaw. Isma had spent several moments in the lockeroom, there was an issue with Marjani's forgotten elbow pad, but it was quickly solved and they lined up for the entrance into the stadium.

Once they were all in the air - and Isma was above most of the action. She had one goal - find the glimmering, quick flying, game ending golden snitch and win the game for Gryffindor. Which means she would have to find it before Christopher Chant of Ravenclaw. He took much the same position as she, but on the otherside of the pitch. She wondered how many sweets wrapers they would both go after. She was starting to keep a tally per game how many sweet wrappers she grabbed at each time.

She watched the interaction between the Beaters and Chasers - a near score for Gryffindor, but it was blocked by the Ravenclaw Keeper. Oh well, the game just started. With Marjani's interferance in Jack's pass to Deak, the quaffle now becomes a big, bright red free for all. It was now a matter of who caught it.

Blake took a chance, just before Ravenclaw Chaser Hadrian could get his hand on the ball it was smashed into by the black ball of a bludger. The quaffle and bludger match up managed to go in favor of Gryffindor as the bright red ball was then caught by Etta and she was darting toward the Ravenclaw hoops guarded by Keeper Daniel Gelson.

Charisma waited, flicking her gaze over the expanse of the field and had caught sight of the snitch, briefly hovering above Christopher's head. She didn't think it was actually the snitch, but she shifted, carefully above the action toward the location of the Ravenclaw Seeker - however, she was too late, the little golden ball was gone from view again. Muttering a curse, she sank back on her broom and continued scanning the pitch for it.

A Taste of What's To Come?
Author: Adina Blackwood
Date:   04-14-10 13:41

Adina had been invited by the MacDougal's, which was good, because she had liked spending time with Marlow and Lauren. She actually had some friends - if she could call them friends, it had only been a day or so since they'd met. Adina was just pleased that her Mum had agreed to let her go after meeting Madeline MacDougal and the two girls that Adina had met at the robe shop in Diagon Alley.

At the moment, she was reaquainting herself with the game because she hadn't been following it since the move to London from Greece. She was sitting next to Marlow, who was pointing out the family and friends that were in the match. She was sipping a cup of pumpkin juice at the moment as she attempted to listen to the rundown from Marlow, with help from Lauren about the individuals playing in the match.

The match was already heating up, with the quaffle having been dropped - or rather missed in an attempt to pass between a pair of Ravenclaw Chasers thanks to one of the Gryffindor Chasers. Adina couldn't help but be amazed at the level of competition between the houses - all of which were bedecked in their house colors, even though only two were playing.

Crimson and Gold for Gryffindor, Black and Yellow for Hufflepuff, Blue and Bronze for Ravenclaw, and the Green and Silver for Slytherin. The staff was watching as well, and there were also more family and friends of the quidditch players. Maybe she would start playing when she came to Hogwarts in the fall, all that would remain is what colors she would be wearing when she did come.

She pushed away her own thoughts and turned back to Marlow, who had apparently asked her a question and waiting for an answer. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I said, do you play at all?" Indicating the players moving quickly through the air.

"I play a bit, but not as good as any of those up there. I'd only played a few pick up games with friends in Athens, because first years weren't allowed on the Quidditch team, at least not as starters and usually never saw play unless someone was seriously injured."

Marlow nodded and they both turned back just in time to witness another near goal, this time by a Ravenclaw chaser at the Gryffindor hoops.

Hoping for a Win
Author: Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen
Date:   04-14-10 14:07

Depending on the outcome of the match, today's could be Fritz's last at Hogwarts. If Gryffindor wins, Ravenclaw definitely won't be going to the championships, and even with a win, whether or not Ravenclaw will get to participate will hinge on the result of the next match between Slytherin and Hufflepuff. Fritz is definitely keeping his fingers crossed that Ravenclaw wins today and that Slytherin wins next month, because that will guarantee Ravenclaw a spot in the championships. If that's the case, it'll be the same lineup as today, Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor.

Fritz has only ever played in one championship match, and that was two years ago against Slytherin, who won the match. Ravenclaw made it to the championships one other time during Fritz's time at Hogwarts, when he was a first year. That year, Ravenclaw beat Slytherin for the school title. It's high time Ravenclaw gets another chance at being the top team at Hogwarts!

After the free-for-all in which Hadrian very nearly recovers the quaffle but Etta ultimately claims it for Gryffindor, the mass of chasers begin moving toward the Ravenclaw goal hoops again. Although they had put some distance between them and the hoops in the preceding run, the group is still closer to the Ravenclaw goals than the Gryffindor ones.

Etta pulls the quaffle tight against her body as she darts ever nearer to where Daniel waits. He is more than ready to take on any number of potential goal attempts that might follow the whole pack's approach.

Fritz, meanwhile, sets his sights on one of the bludgers that is careening back towards the center of the Pitch. He reaches it before Blake can, but the timing is too close for him to aim with any sort of accuracy. Instead, the black ball flies in the general direction of the pack. Coco is conveniently nearby and whacks it at Etta, but Ella is quick as lightning and appears in front of it before it can do any damage. She hits it at Jack, just as he's reaching out to steal the ball. He spots it from the corner of his eye and retracts his arm quickly, so that the ball only grazes the hairs on his arm.

Etta takes the opportunity to pass the ball to Wiggy. Fritz, meanwhile, darts closer to the pack when he realizes that both of the Gryffindor beaters have converged on either bludger. Although he doesn't see her in that moment, Fritz suspects that Coco has also drawn closer to the pack so that she can protect the Ravenclaw chasers as they try to intercept the quaffle.

As expected, Ella hits one of the bludgers at Hadrian, who has drifted closer to Wiggy. Fritz dives in front of Hadrian to block and twists his wrist just enough to change the bludger's path. It's absolutely perfect timing because in that moment, Wiggy lets the ball fly. The bludger hits the quaffle, knocking it off its intended course. All of the chasers converge on the ball, with Fritz scrambling to move out of the way. He doesn't want to get prodded by an errant elbow or broomstick.

Fritz doesn't wait to see who has emerged victorious with the quaffle. He spots the nearest bludger and make a beeline for it, ready to use it however necessary.

Getting Some Action
Author: Ronan Eastwick
Date:   04-14-10 15:14

So far, all the action had been on the other side of the field. Although it made Ronan feel like he was more of a spectator than an active participant in the match, he wasn't complaining one bit. The more the other players were near the Ravenclaw hoops, the more likely Gryffindor would put points on the board––and Ravenclaw wouldn't.

Just when Ronan thought Gryffindor might land another goal attempt, a bludger struck the quaffle mid-pass and knocked it away from its intended target. All six chasers moved in on it, and all Ronan could see for a while were the backs of Quidditch uniforms as the chasers vied for the ball. Then a blue-clad chaser emerged with the ball in hand. Deak raced ahead of the group, the quaffle securely at his side.

Ronan tensed and leaned forward on his broomstick, watching the approaching chaser as well as his teammates and Ronan's own. Occasionally, he flicked his eyes this way and that, in search of the beaters and the bludgers. Mostly he kept his eyes on Deak, who still had the quaffle and wore a look of such determination, that if Ronan didn't have confidence in his skills as a keeper, he was certain Deak would score.

Ronan didn't want Deak scoring, though. Gryffindor had won all its matches so far, and Ronan liked to keep it that way. Besides, unless a major upset happened today, Gryffindor could very well win the Quidditch Cup. It would be the perfect way for Ronan to end his career at Hogwarts. Winning the House Cup too would make it all the better!

Deak approached Ronan swiftly and just as quickly launched the quaffle at the goals. It hit the palm of Ronan's hand hard and left a red mark that stung for a short while. The chasers converged on the ball again, and this time Ronan was extra vigilant since the pack was right there in front of the hoops he guarded. Unfortunately, Deak managed to get his hands on the ball again and threw the ball the same time Ronan was distracted by a bludger. It happened too fast for Ronan to debate taking the hit and blocking the ball, and instinct took over anyway and caused him to dodge the blow.

The end result was the first points of the match, to Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor.

Momentarily Distracted
Author: Ella
Date:   04-14-10 17:16

Ella frowned as the first points of the match went to Ravenclaw. It was early in the game, however, and anything could happen. Gryffindor had had a very good season so far and Ella had no reason to doubt that they wouldn't play their best in this match either. She felt very pumped up and went after every bludger with zeal. Now that Gryffindor had possession of the quaffle, Ella focused her attention on either defending her teammates from the opposing team or distracting the opposition.

Marjani had the quaffle and wove through every obstacle in her path seemingly effortlessly. Ella helped her along the way, first blocking a bludger sent via Coco and later using the same bludger to prevent Jack from stealing the quaffle. When there was an opening, Marjani pitched the quaffle at Etta, but before Etta could catch it, a strong gust of wind suddenly carried the ball away, straight into Deak's waiting arms.

He turned immediately and started for Ronan, who looked to be silently berating himself for allowing a goal to get past him. Ella charged at a bludger and reached it just seconds before Fritz. She hit it hard, narrowly slugging Fritz in the process, and sent it into Deak's back. He buckled forward over his broom but didn't let go of the ball. Marjani, however, swept next to him and lifted it straight from his loosened grip.

The pack moved back in the other direction, drawing ever nearer to the Ravenclaw hoops. Marjani passed the ball to Etta, who passed it to Wiggy, and soon the quaffle was traveling so fast it was hard to keep track of it. Keeping track of it wasn't really Ella's job, though, so she continued to keep watch for the two bludgers that zig zagged across the Pitch. Just as she caught sight of one, she spotted two familiar people in the stands. Her father had come to the match and brought Delilah with him. Delilah looked decidely bored, but Dunstan was on his feet, cheering loudly.

Ella was so distracted by their unexpected visit that she missed the bludger she'd been chasing after. Fritz got it and used it to hit one of the Gryffindor chasers. Ella hadn't seen her father or Delilah since spring break ended. She'd dutifully told her mother about everything that she had observed in Capri, leaving out only the note from Zane she'd received.

Dunstan and Delilah had seen the owl deliver the letter to Ella and had asked about it. Ella had lied and said it had come from a Hogwarts friend. She'd debated ignoring the letter altogether but had ultimately decided to scrawl a quick reply. She didn't want Zane writing again as long as she was on holiday with her father and his girlfriend. In the quick note, she'd said that she would write again to know she was back at Hogwarts but she hadn't actually done so yet. He probably knew that term had resumed, but he hadn't written her again. Ella wasn't sure if she would actually write back like she promised. He was a part of her past, after all.

It took Ronan yelling at her from across the pitch for Ella to realized she'd totally zoned out. She blinked, shook her head, and tried to focus on what she was supposed to do without thinking about the two guests sitting in the stands or about her ex.

Determined (Jack)
Author: Kody
Date:   04-15-10 11:56

Jack has the quaffle now after good pass by Wiggy to Marjani was interrupted when Marjani took a bludger to the arm. The quaffle hadn't even touched her fingers yet so Jack didn't even have to snatch it from her grasp. He simply darted forward and grabbed it just as it was reaching the Gryffindor. Winking at Marjani when she scowled at him, Jack had accelerated away as he brought the quaffle in close to his body.

Wiggy and Etta are flying on either side of him and, though he hasn't turned around to check, he's fairly sure that Marjani is very close behind. Jack and Etta swerve to the left around Ravenclaw seeker Christopher while Wiggy breaks right. Once around, Wiggy narrows the distance between Jack and him, an arm coming out in hopes of stealing the ball. Wiggy's forced to jerk his hand away when Deak wedges himself between Wiggy and Jack.

Jack easily hands off to Deak who in turn rockets forward then promptly passes to Hadrian. Jack, Deak, and Hadrian work the quaffle closer and closer to Ronan, hoping to put more points on the board for Ravenclaw. Right now the score is 10-0, though Jack has no doubt that Gryffindor is going to work extremely hard to change that.

When the three Ravenclaw chasers get within decent goal attempt range, it's Jack once again with the ball. Cocking his arm back he lets the quaffle fly. Ronan swats the ball away from center hoop, a determined gleem in his eye. Just as determined Jack catches the rebounding quaffle and moves to throw for another goal attempt. He's blocked even before he can loosen his hold on the ball when Etta gets between Jack and the direction the ball would go if he threw it.

Leaning right while simultaneously guiding his broom to give a different trajectory to the ball, Jack lets the quaffle fly once more only to have Etta again block. She plucks it out of hte air and grinning at him steaks past going back the other direction. Letting out a frustrated sigh, Jack whips his broom around to give chase after her.

Game Play
Author: Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen

Fritz frowns when both of Jack's goal attempts don't yield the result any of the Ravenclaws want. At least Gryffindor hasn't scored yet. With that thought in mind, Fritz zooms after the nearest bludger, determined to use it against the Gryffindor chasers who are currently working the quaffle across the Pitch. He doesn't want them to get anywhere near where Daniel is hovering in front of the Ravenclaw hoops.

He bats the bludger to Coco, who redirects it at Etta, who just completed the pass from Wiggy. Ella swoops in and very nearly takes a hit from the black ball. She manages to bring up her bat in the knick of time, though she doesn't get much of a chance to aim. The bludger is deflected the same direction it came, right back to Coco, who tries once more to get a shot at Etta. At the same time, Etta lets the quaffle fly. The bludger strikes her in the shoulder, while the quaffle is swooped up by Marjani.

Marjani pulls within scoring range and lofts the ball at the left-most hoop. Daniel dives for it and easily bats it away with the palm of his hand. Wiggy scoops up the quaffle and shoots it for the right-most hoop. Daniel uses excellent reflexes and dives the other way, blocking Wiggy's goal attempt too. The ball bounces off his hand and is collected by Deak, who hightails it in the opposite direction.

Fritz's bat strikes a bludger and sends it at Marjani, just as she's reaching for the ball in Deak's arms. She pulls away and avoids getting hit by the bludger. Jack and Hadrian manage to catch up to Deak and flank either side of him, protecting the quaffle from the wandering hands of the Gryffindor chasers. Fritz flies into position behind the pack, looking every which way for both bludgers and the Gryffindor beaters.

The trip back to the Gryffindor hoops happens mostly without incident. The quaffle stays secure in Deak's arms, except when he fakes a handoff to Hadrian. Hadrian pulls ahead, pretending as if he's got the quaffle, and drawing the attention of the opposing chasers and the Gryffindor beaters. Deak is at the goal in no time, and while everyone is focusing on Hadrian, he pitches the ball into the right-most hoop for the second goal of the match.

Hurray!
Author: Linnea Rose
Date:   04-16-10 09:26

Linnea was standing watch the quidditch game between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. She did not really know which she would hurray on since it did not matter which team wan. She was just standing there looking at the game think that it was really intressing since she would not often see this kinds of games at home.

Linnea followed the game intensely as she cheered on both teams when they scored. It was really intresting since it kept going one the whole time and not a pause like the muggle games she had been seeing as a little child being played outside there house when they lived in London.

But when someone was hit she closed her eyes not to see the things she thought she would see. But of course there was nothing really dangerous that happened during the game.

The game kept going one and Linnea was standing sometimes and sometimes sitting on the bench she had behind her. It was really intressting to see and she was glad when the match was over and she could have some time to herself even if the game was really funny.

In The Action (Hadrian)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   04-16-10 17:42

When Ravenclaw made its first goal, Liannah cheered wildly. With the second Ravenclaw goal she became even more enthusiastic. Cousin Jill Prewitt, sitting a couple of rows behind Liannah, leaned forward each time to say, "Just remember that Gryffindor's going to win the match."

Each time Liannah turned and grinned at Jill, "Keep dreaming."

In between the enthusiasm shown for her house team and the friendly banter with Jill, Liannah would occassionally look over at her father Scott. He'd brought Marlow to the match along with some new friend of Marlow's, Adina. Despite regular meetings still with one of the psychological healers Hogwarts has working with the students to help deal with everything that happened while Euphemia Smythe-Jones were Minister of Magic, Liannah still has moments of gripping fear when she wants nothing more than to go home to her bedroom and never have to come out ever again. When she first saw her father this morning, Liannah had the urge to beg him to take her with him after the match and let her be homeschooled but the urge passed very quickly.

"I'm getting something to drink. Want anything?" Liannah's cousin Jasper Jenkins, who happens to be one of her best friends as well, asks.

"Some tea poured over ice, please."

Jasper makes a face at her before asking around of the others then heads off to the refreshment stand with their cousin Hunter Rabnott, who's brother Hadrian is playing today. Her father, upon hearing Liannah's request, nudged her. "Aaron's American ways are rubbing off."

Liannah nods. "Iced tea is very good. You should try it sometime."

A groan goes up from the crowd, drawing their attention back to the action over the pitch where Ravenclaw had just missed making its third goal by the merest fraction.

That goal attempt had been made by Hadrian. He'd taken a beautifully thrown pass of the quaffle from Jack then immediately set up to throw the ball through one of the three hoops Ronan Eastwick guards. Hadrian really thought he had the shot. Fritz sent a bludger at Ronan that had the Gryffindor keeper forced to split his attention between the bludger and what Hadrian was doing. Hadrian saw an opening and took it. The quaffle was nearly through the hoop when a combination of one of the first really big gusts of wind of the day and the other bludger kept the quaffle from going all the way through the hoop.

With the score still 20 to 0 in Ravenclaw's favor and with Etta now in possession of the quaffle, the action shifts away from Ronan towards Ravenclaw keeper Daniel Gelson. A bludger streaks across in front of Etta, making her practically have to jerk to a stop to avoid a collision with the black ball. Deak darts forward, hand outstretched, ready to steal the quaffle while Etta's both at a standstill and slightly distracted. Wiggy shouts at Etta just in time for her to go into an accelerating climb while also rolling in the direction away from Deak.

Because of Etta's very temporary halt, Hadrian had started out behind Etta, nearer to the Gryffindor tended hoops, but is now past her. He circles around, gaining height as he does. Deak is still close, having stuck with her even through the climb and roll. Jack's ahead slightly with Marjani doing her best to block him from also getting in close to harass Etta. Wiggy meanwhile has positioned himself for a pass from Etta. Hadrian attempts to run interference but Ella Harville shoots a bludger at him that takes him on the thigh then does a weird bounce up to clip his elbow as well. The elbow hit wasn't much of one but it got his funny bone so for a brief moment Hadrian's got intense pain shooting up and down his arm.

In just that brief time, no more than a blink really, Wiggy's taken possession and is moving in on Daniel for a goal attempt. Marjani's still covering Jack well enough that he's having trouble doing much at the moment. Deak, with Etta practically on top of him, and Hadrian move in to block Wiggy's shot. Wiggy looks like he's going to throw to the right and Deak breaks that way only to have Wiggy loft the quaffle at a different angle. Hadrian mistimes it, ending up with his fingers barely brushing the quaffle. Daniel had at first gone the same direction as Deak but being further away has more time to alter course. He's able to compensate for his mistake and blocks Wiggy's shot, with the quaffle bouncing off the tail of Daniel's broom. Hadrian snatches the quaffle but annoyingly gets smacked by another bludger, again courtesy of Ella, before his grip is good. Jack tries for it but it's Marjani who snaps up the red ball. Now it's Jack's turn to cover Marjani as well as she'd covered him with Hadrian doing the same with Wiggy. Deak's got Etta where it's going to be difficult for Etta to take a clean pass from Marjani without a huge chance of Deak stealing the quaffle.

Marjani ends up pulling away from Daniel and the hoops, trying to get an opening to either make a goal attempt or pass the quaffle off safely to Wiggy or Etta. Hadrian's hoping to keep Wiggy from getting the quaffle again and stealing it back for Ravenclaw.
