(Asher) Beater Action
Author: Jolyon
Date:   03-15-15 11:21

With Ramona in possession of the quaffle and en route to the goals, Asher immediately set his sights on the nearest bludger and maneuvered his way in its direction. He had to change course when Jade appeared unexpectedly. The Ravenclaw beater hit the bludger at Mason, with hopes to thwart him from stealing the ball from Ramona. Luckily for Slytherin, Baron was there to protect Mason from getting hit. He redirected the bludger at Asher's original intended target, Ramona.

It managed to strike her in the hip, but not before she attempted a goal. Gus executed a full body block to stop the quaffle and handed it off to Malden. Malden zipped away with the red ball in hand, swerving around Paton and then Franciscus as he made his getaway. Asher rounded up Baron's bludger and used it against Franciscus, who was the nearest chaser to Malden.

Malden had made more comments about how pretty Arielle was turning out, especially with Valentine's Day just around the corner. Asher really didn't like to hear about how his best friend seemed to fancy his twin sister, but at least it didn't seem like Malden was actually planning on asking Arielle to the dance. Asher wasn't planning on asking anyone out either. The boys would check it out, both for the food which was likey to be extra good, and to make fun of the couples.

Asher darted forward and nudged the other bludger in Paton's direction. The bludger forced him to give up his harassment of Malden, at least temporarily. Malden passed to Mason, who passed to Crew. Crew ducked under Bran, who was conducting a systematic search for the snitch, and then volleyed the ball back at Mason. Mason launched it at Malden, only for Franciscus to intercept the ball.

Franciscus turned around but quickly found himself surrounded by the enemy. He made the quick decision to pass the ball to Paton through a narrow opening. Mason got his fingers on the ball, but it wasn't enough for Slytherin to regain possession of it. The quaffle continued on its way to Paton, except Asher hit him with a bludger. The distraction was enough for him to miss catching the ball, but the quaffle struck Paton right after the bludger and bounced off of him, going into freefall.

(Willow) Third Time Commentating
Author: Rowan Westwick
Date:   03-15-15 14:31

Willow sat in the staff box, thanks to her duty as Quidditch commentator, and announced the game play as it happened. The quaffle was currently unclaimed by either Ravenclaw or Slytherin but was highly coveted by both sides. It fell for only a brief amount of time before various players converged on it. At first, Willow couldn't see who had gotten the red ball, but then Mason burst free from the crowd with the quaffle in hand.

"And it's Jeffers with the quaffle!"

Mason zoomed away with his fellow chasers and the opposing ones hot on his heels.

Willow knew she couldn't show bias as the Quidditch commentator, so she kept her hopes to herself. She wanted Slytherin to win and was glad Mason had been the one to get the quaffle after it bounced off of Paton. She was a bit disappointed that Ravenclaw was ahead of the game, though.

Mason passed the quaffle to Malden, who passed it to Crew, and so on. The Slytherinc chasers worked seamlessly to move the quaffle closer and closer to the goal hoops guarded by Beatrix. When they got within scoring range, Beatrix rebuffed to attempts by Malden and one by Crew. Every time she knocked the ball back into the fray, it wound up in Slytherin hands. Again and again she blocked it until Baron got off a bludger. It didn't end up hitting Beatrix, but she moved in such a way that made it impossible for her to stop Mason's quaffle from going through the hoop.

"And Jeffers scores for Slytherin! The match is tied, 20-20!" Willow shouted.

Things were looking up, it seemed. Willow tried to keep the eagerness out of her voice, but she supposed there was no harm in sounding enthusiastic about the match. She flicked her glance at the Slytherin section of the stands. Her housemates were on their feet, cheering loudly for Slytherin.

Among then was Maurice, the boy who picked on her because her parents had once been Death Eaters. He hadn't given her trouble in a while, but Willow wouldn't put it past him to start up with it again.

She realized she had gone silent and resumed announcing the game play, fervently hoping Slytherin would regain possession of the quaffle and put some more points on the board!

The Ball
Author: Jane Linton
Date:   03-15-15 14:32

Jane clapped her hands when Asher Kent's bludger hit Paton Shrewsbury. Today she was rooting for Slytherin; not because she particularly sympathized with the Slytherins but because if they won the match that would narrow Ravenclaw's advantage, since they had beaten Hufflepuff the last time they played.

"Do you think we should get pairs for the Valentine's ball?" Nala asked out of the blue.

"What?"

"I don't know. There's a lot of people going and I would like to do so as well. It must be romantic…"

Jane followed the chaser's dance up in the air with her eyes. She didn't care about the Valentine's ball. The idea of being in a room filled with couples, holding hands and kissing ashamed her a bit. It was embarrassing enough to watch that happen every day at the common room or the corridors. But Nala liked the idea of wearing a dress and dance with a boy.

"Do you think one of the boys will ask to come to the ball with me?"

"Who?"

"Hum…Bowen maybe. Or Pelinore. Perhaps even someone from our house. I think Chip was thinking about taking a girl to the ball. Maybe someone will ask me to go!"

Nala's eyes looked around the mass of students seated at the Quidditch pitch, as if she was trying to see who among the crowd might ask her to attend the ball. Jane continued paying attention to the match. But alas, Nala's conversation started to affect her and she started to image herself going to the ball as well, perhaps with a Quidditch player. She would wear a lilac dress she had taken to the school. Her mother thought she was occupying space in her trunk by taking it to Hogwarts but Jane had insisted to bring it with her. The Valentine's ball would be the perfect occasion to wear it…

Jane sighed.

"Yes, I wish someone would ask me to go as well…"

Good Sportsmanship (Baron)
Author: Phinfilius
Date:   03-15-15 15:15

The good sport in Baron knows an important part of the match is to play well and cleanly. If that's done then both teams are winners. The Slytherin in Baron wants nothing more than his team to run up points on goals and for Rylee to get the snitch, putting his house one step closer to taking both the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup. As someone who plans on being Minister of Magic for the British Ministry, he's never openly admit the latter though anyone who knows Baron well would know it to be truth without being told. But, then, that's true of most any Quidditch player or fan of any house. They all desire their respective teams and houses to come out on top at the end of the school year.

Coming up on a bludger, bat at the ready, Baron knows that Mason, Malden, and Crew have a long way to go if they're going to rack up a pile of goals before the match is over. If Ravenclaw were a weaker team or had injuries affecting the team, that would help the Slytherin cause but as neither is the case, they'll just have to make due. Part of that includes Asher and he going full tilt to assist their chasers. With the quaffle back in Ravenclaw possession that means aiding in getting the ball back into Slytherin hands. With that in mind, Baron smacks the bludger, targeting Paton. Unlike Asher who Baron has gotten the impression doesn't much care for anyone on the other teams they play, Baron likes Paton and the rest of the Ravenclaw players, one of them in particular but this is Quidditch and he is a beater who very much wants to win this match. He holds nothing back sending the bludger off at Paton.

Sending the bludger that time is for naught as Paton passes off to Ramona before the black ball reaches him. On top of that, he's changed up his speed, which puts the timing off for the bludger to get him. Baron shrugs it off. That's part of this game and any beater who gets into a snit when things don't go a particular way shouldn't be playing. This thought comes because he has a cousin on the Marchbanks side, one who lives in Canada, who has one of the most unsportsman-like attitude Baron has ever seen. The cousin has fits and rages even over a simple game of cards. He made a school team but was quickly let go when his conduct became apparent. He whines about that to this day even though that occurred more than four years ago.

With some rapid back and forth passing and equally rapid flying manuevers, Ravenclaw soon has the quaffle back to where Gus awaits. The ball is once again in Ramona's hands, the Ravenclaw chaser forced to duck when Asher gets a bludger to her that would have knocked her a good one in her left temple. All part of Quidditch though hits to the head tend to make Baron flinch even though it's not his head being hit.

Bludger past, Ramona hurls the quaffle. Jade has the other bludger headed towards Gus but in an effort to steal the quaffle, Mason ends up getting clipped on the shoulder instead. Gus slaps a hand against the quaffle, sending it back into the fray. Baron's come around to get one of the bludgers but is forced to back off when Aderyn gets there just ahead of him. As she hits it, he's already in motion to get in front of it. He'll be the wrong way to assist his team's chasers or keeper but at least the bludger won't be smashing into one of them either.

While his back is to the throng, he hears commentator Willow Westwick announce, "Vanderbilt throws...."

Baron whips his upper torso around in time to see the quaffle thrown by Franciscus slide past Gus's outstretched fingers. His lips tighten into a frown as Willow proclaims, "And he scores! Ravenclaw leads 30 to Slytherin's 20!"

The quaffle goes back into Slytherin hands so Baron shifts from assisting to keep Ravenclaw from scoring to aiding in Slytherin keeping the red ball long enough to once more tie the match.

Lumpy Forehead
Author: Saffron
Date:   03-16-15 11:45

Feeling a sneeze coming on Bran slows, grabbing a handkerchief from where he's got it stuffed up a sleeve. Sneezing hard once, twice, and then a third time has him wincing. Bran has had a headache since a bludger got him on the forehead, smacking him hard enough to leave a small knot that also aches. The lump probably wouldn't hurt as it does if Bran wouldn't keep reaching up to feel it while searching for the snitch.

Luckily, though he does have a headache and the small egg on his head (and most likely a bruise or big red spot to go with it) Coach Krum didn't order Bran from the match. He is, however, to check in with Madam Pomfrey after the match, and Coach Krum said he was going to watch Bran for signs of concussion. Even with the pain radiating from his forehead, Bran doesn't want to have to leave the game if it's not necessary. If that were to happen the only way Ravenclaw can win is if the chasers are able to run up the score with enough goals that it won't matter that Rylee would get the snitch. With Gus playing well as Slytherin's keeper and all three of their chasers in the game, Slytherin would have to suddenly start playing horribly for Ravenclaw to get enough of a lead with goals that the one hundred fifty points awarded for catching the snitch wouldn't matter.

Hankie stuffed back up his sleeve, Bran hopes he doesn't do anymore sneezing. He doesn't have a cold or even the sniffles really but flying around in cool temperatures does make his eyes water and at times there's dust or something that can trigger a sneeze, or four. Spotting a glint of gold, Bran flies towards it, trying to be surreptitious about it so as not to alert Rylee. The glint turns out to be nothing but a bit of gold foil, small enough that he can easily see someone not even realizing a tiny bit of rubbish got away. Sunlight caught the tiny square just right, making it appear more the size of a snitch's wings.

Hearing sounds from behind, Bran scoots his broom out of the way as three chasers zoom by. Franciscus has the quaffle with Malden and Crew coming up on either side, attempting to put the squeeze on him. A bludger hit by Jade forces Crew to back off somewhat, giving Franciscus enough of an opening to forward pass to Paton.

Paton swerves around the third Slytherin chaser, Mason, then accelerates, swiftly closing the distance between him and Gus. Continuing his snitch hunt, Bran doesn't see Paton pass to Ramona but based on what match announcer Willow Westwick is saying he must have. Ramona throws for goal only to have Gus knock it back. Crew and Paton scramble for it with Paton taking possession.

Paton rapidly dispossesses himself of the quaffle by throwing towards one of the hoops. A combination of Gus doing well at his keeper position and a bludger foil Paton's effort. It's now Malden with the quaffle, rocketing back down the pitch where Beatrix awaits.

Bran momentarily loses track of what Willow's saying when he again thinks he's spotted the snitch. When yet again he's proven wrong and tunes back into Willow's running commentary, fingers going up to rub the forehead lump though he knows he shouldn't, Franciscus has intercepted a pass and the direction of the action has changed once more.

(Ariella) Worried
Author: Beck
Date:   03-16-15 18:12

Ariella sat in the stands and watched the Quidditch match between Ravenclaw and Slytherin with Lawrence and Karina. She had not planned on attending the match and only agreed to go after a great deal of convincing from her husband. Lawrence rightly suggested she get out and do something fun, if only to distract herself from her family's current troubles.

The misunderstanding by Muggle police officers had not yet been resolved. Anthony remained in their custody, held in the Bedwas Police Station in Bedwas, Caerphilly. For reasons unknown, the Ministry of Magic appeared to be having difficulty clearing up the mistake, which made absolutely no sense to Ariella. Couldn't obliviators swoop in and do what was necessary to return Anthony to the wizarding world?

Alanna tried her best to get more information about their brother's situation, but because she was his sister, she was not allowed to work on his case. Still, being in her position at the Ministry of Magic, Alanna thought she would have a better understanding of what was going on with him, but it seemed her sources for information were very limited. It was both frustrating and worrisome.

An article in the Daily Prophet put forth the possibility that Anthony wasn't innocent. After all, the victim had been a witch. According to the author, it didn't seem all that farfetched that a wizard could murder a witch in a Muggle setting using a Muggle weapon.

As far as the Muggles went, they seemed to think Anthony wasn't being forthright with them. Of course he couldn't be. They knew nothing about the wizarding world and wouldn't understand that he was there to investigate a witch wanted by a wizarding government. Being trained in law enforcement and methods of interrogation, Anthony felt rather good about the made up answers he gave, but obviously, they weren't as good as he thought.

Ariella worried about him very much. She let out a sigh, which seemed to catch not only Lawrence's attention but Karina's as well. Karina's lower lip started to quiver and her eyes welled with tears.

Lawrence slipped an arm around Ariella's shoulders and said, "I'm sure it will all get sorted out soon."

Ariella somehow doubted it.

Slytherin Victory
Author: Rylee
Date:   03-16-15 18:43

Rylee shifted on her broom, the weather was perfect for Quidditch. She was quite glad it wasn't snowing, it made it a bit easier, perhaps to find the snitch. As of right now, Slytherin was not winning and honestly that was not acceptable after their loss to Gryffindor. Pushing a hand through her hair as she cast her gaze over the pitch once more, tongue dancing over her lips for a moment before she would once more settle into the expanse of her search, attempting to find the glimmering golden ball before Bran did. She'd nearly caught the snitch a couple of times early on in the match, but the ever elusive glimmering ball was always out of reach.

Slight shift on her broom, as she flicked her gaze down to the action of the chasers and beaters below, as well as try and pinpoint Bran's exact location on the pitch. He was the only one she really had to worry about, aside from perhaps a beater lobbing a bludger in her flight path and disrrupting her attempt to grab the snitch, which had happened at least once since she'd been playing on the Slytherin team. At the moment the quaffle was in the hands of Mason, who was currently in the process of passing to Malden in an attempt to score again for Slytherin, however, a bludger, well aimed by Jade or Aderyn had ultimately nicked the quaffle and sent it briefly into a freefall. She listened to Willow, attempting to figure out who got their hands on the big red ball next, however, she was momentarily distracted.

Sunlight glimmered softly off of something bright and vibrantly gold, and about snitch sized, just a bit beneath where she was currently hovering. Quick glance over the pitch, and she saw that Bran was on the opposite side of the pitch and had yet to realize that something was up. All the better to be honest, because it meant that it would give her at least a few more moments of advantage before Bran realized she was chasing after the snitch. Her focus narrowed, and everything around her barely acknowledged, as she began her persuit of the glimmering golden ball. Determined to get her hand upon it, before Bran could. Slytherin needed this victory after that loss to Gryffindor.

The quaffle, was currently in Crew Morgan's hands and he was currently making a shot at the hoops guarded by Beatrix Vanderbilt, however his attempt was not successful. Shifting lower on her broom, she faded out the rest of the players on the pitch and focused on the glimmering golden ball that would give Slytherin the victory over Ravenclaw. She flicked her gaze to the right, and knew that Bran was there and attempting to get his hands on the glimmering golden ball and give Ravenclaw the victory.

She shifted slightly, changing her trajectory just a little bit to attempt to put a bit more distance between herself and Bran, in hopes that she would lay claim to the snitch first. She caught sight of a bludger, aimed by Aderyn to throw her off the trail of the snitch, and unfortunately couldn't get out of the way fast enough, without slamming into Bran, and took the bludger hit to her right side, hissing slightly in pain she was knocked sideways, just as her hand reached out and closed around the snitch.

"Rylee Marks has caught the snitch! Slytherin wins, 170-30!!!" Willow's voice echoed through the pitch as Rylee held the glimmering golden ball in her gloved hand!

A Fleeting Shot of Arrogance? (Crew)
Author: Driver Morgan
Date:   03-16-15 22:51

The announcer, Willow, announced the results, as Crew dropped down to the pitch and off his broom. He had a huge grin spread across his face, Slytherin had won the match against Ravenclaw. He could hear the shouts of victory from the stands, those of his friends and even some family members.

The team was ecstatic as congratulations were exchanged amongst them. It was at that very moment that Crew felt it, something his parents had warned him against. He felt proud, but not just of the way his team had pulled off a win with only 2 goals. It made him feel better than everyone not wearing green, even for a split second he liked it.

As quickly as the feeling happened it faded when he made his way to the locker room. As he walked the hallway, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and blinked. He could see his late uncle Dexter telling a younger version of himself that "arrogance is the mark of a weak man, don't give in to it, most of the time." He shook his head as he pushed towards his locker to change, did he take a bludger to the head? What did that mean exactly? Not only was the eleven year old still learning about the world in general, he was just starting to figure himself out. Who knew what the next few years would bring, but lots of adventure was sure to follow young Morgan.

"CREW!" Sagitta ran up and pulled her friend into a hug, as he walked up the hill from the pitch. "Congrats on the win!"

The sandy blonde haired boy grinned, thankful he had showered after the match, "Thanks, Ita. We were pretty awesome today. Where'd Remedy go?"

"To the Common Commons, I told her we'd meet her there." With that the kids headed off to the common common room to hang out before they had to be back in their dorms for the night.
