Sick Again
Author: Alaia Rothstein
Date:   05-28-16 13:38

Lee was outside on the back porch preparing to grill them some food for lunch and Alaia was busy in the kitchen making some salad and cutting up fruit for a platter. She still wasn't feeling all that great and no one seemed to be able to tell her why she was not feeling well. She had been to the healer several times, had pregnancy tests done and all kinds of others but still no one knew what was making her sick.

A pain surged through Alaia's stomach and she almost doubled over in pain just as Lee was walking in.

"Are you alright?" Lee asked with mild alarm in his voice. He walked over to his wife and placed a hand on her back.

"Yeah I am fine." She said but it was clear that she was in pain.

"Alaia, honey, you're not okay." Lee said pulling her into his arms. "I think we should take you to the healer again."

Alaia sighed she did not want to go back to the healer but at the same time she wanted to know what was going on with her. She was not pregnant, she wished she was, at least she would know what was making her sick then.

"Come on." Lee said as he ushered her into their room to get her things (Purse and anything else she wanted), and he went out and put the fire out on the grill and put the food away.

When they arrived at St. Mungo's they were roomed almost immediately and they waited while the nurse took her vitals and recorded them for the healer.

The healer came into the room a few minutes after the nurse left and began asking both Alaia and Lee questions about Alaia's health. Alaia was about half way through answering a question for the healer when her stomach took a violent turn and Alaia said she needed to excuse herself – she ran to the bathroom and threw up.

Alaia wiped her mouth and looked in the mirror at herself. She looked pale and not like herself; she had lost weight from throwing up so much. What was wrong with her?

She walked back to the room where Lee and the healer waited and sat down.

"Are you all right?" Both Lee and the healer asked. Alaia just nodded her head.

"All right," The healer began and he began doing tests on her again to see if he could find out what was making her so sick and in so much pain.

Justus sat at Chance's in the living room pouring over papers from work when an owl tapped on the window. Justus looked up and he walked to the window and opened it. He took the letter attached to the owl and then gave the owl a treat.

Sitting back down Justus opened the letter and read it. It was on purple paper and in lime green ink. It could only be from his sister Faith.

Dear Justus,
Keith and I have been talking and we are wanting to come for a visit. We will be there on the 24th of this month and we are going to stay for two weeks if that is okay?

We will be coming into Hogsmeade and staying in town unless we can stay with you. Meet us at The Three Boom Sticks at one o'clock.

We will see you then.

Much love,
Your Sister Faith

P.S. Hope will be coming with us.

Justus smiled at the news and looked at his pocket watch for the date. Today was the 24th. Oh, wow, they were going to be there today. He took a second look at the watch in his hand and realized it was a quarter to one now. Damn owl post was slow sometimes.

"Chance!" Justus yelled through the house until Chance came to the top of the stairs.

"What?" She called back at him and he appeared at the bottom of the stairs.

"Do you remember my sisters, Faith and Hope?" Chance nodded her head. "Well they are coming into town today and brining Keith and the kids.

"That is great. When are they arriving?"

Justus let off a laugh and said, "In 15 minutes."

"Oh, well how long have you known they were coming?" She asked.

"About five minutes." He laughed again. "Do you mind if they stay with us?" He asked. "They were going to stay here in Hogsmeade but I would rather they stay with us if that is okay with you?" He asked with a smile. "I will make it worth your while." He winked at her.

Chance giggled and nodded her head, "of course it is okay. It will be great having them over." Chance started to walk into the bedroom, calling over shoulder, "I'll be right back and we can go meet them."

"Okay."

Justus put away his papers with a flourish of his wand and waited for Chance. It was a full two minutes later that she arrived at the bottom of the stairs and the two left to meet Justus' family.

They arrived at The Three Broom Sticks and they immediately saw Faith and Keith, the kids and Hope. Justus and Chance both smiled and walked over to them and gave them hugs. It was so good to see them, it had been far too long.

Jade In The Match As Well
Author: Emerald Green
Date:   05-28-16 15:46

Paton has the quaffle and Jade is determined that he, or one of the other two Ravenclaw chasers, will retain the ball until the team scores again. Racing after a bludger to send in Mildred's direction, Jade spots Aunt Blythe and Uncle Woody in the stands. With both Hunter and her playing today, they weren't going to miss the match if they could help it. Seeing them both adorned in a combination of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw colors brings a laugh.

Just behind are Olive and Zuberi. Emerald and Phin have planned to come, Phin as much for his cousin Leo as for either Hunter or she, but their baby - the thought of being an aunt herself now brings another smile - had a slight fever this morning so they decided not to come in case the baby needs to see a healer.

How easy words such as healer, quaffle, apparition, and transfiguration now come to mind. There was a time when Jade struggled to say healer rather than doctor and other words seemed just as foreign to her as those of, say, Russian or Chinese.

There are days that it boggles Jade's mind to think she's now lived as a witch in the Wizarding World longer than she lived as just a regular person in the Muggle one. That she hadn't even known what a Muggle is. Blythe and Woody have served as her parents longer than her own parents had. There are times when if not for photographs of her mother and father she'd not quite remember their faces.

Mildred avoids the bludger but in doing so Penny, now with the quaffle, is able to pull slightly ahead. Mickey gets to that same bludger, hitting it straight towards Penny's back. Jade hustles to get to the bludger before it gets to Penny.

As Jade is reaching the bludger Penny is swerving to avoid the black ball and is passing the quaffle back to Paton. Meanwhile, Kurt has hit the second bludger, targeting Gerry who is harassing Paton and Madoc is doing his best to not allow that.

Despite the combined effort of the Gryffindor chasers and beaters, Paton reaches the end hoops at the end of the pitch where Hunter is on high alert. Paton throws but thanks to jerking away from a bludger at the last second, the quaffle is on a somewhat wobbly flight path and is easily stopped by Hunter. Finley and Franciscus both grab the quaffle as it sails back into their midst with Franciscus wresting the ball away from her.

Franciscus lofts the quaffle in the direction as far from Hunter as possible and still be aimed at a hoop. Hunter gets to it but even stretched as far as he can reach he can't get enough force on the ball to dislodge it from its course. The quaffle grazes the rim of the hoop but it's not enough to cause the ball to bounce in the direction desired by Hunter and his Gryffindor teammates.

The quaffle goes through the hoop, adding ten more points to Ravenclaw's score and putting Ravenclaw in the lead for this first time this match. Jade hurries after one of the bludgers as Finley takes the quaffle to put it back into play.

Ravenclaw 30, Gryffindor 20

(Madoc) Game Play

Madoc raced Kurt for one of the bludgers, which the Gryffindor beater hoped to use on Penny. Penny kept swiping her arm out in an effort to steal, or at the very least dislodge the quaffle from Finley's grasp. No doubt Kurt wanted to hit Finley with the bludger so that Penny could more easily gain possession of the quaffle.

The pair were practically neck and neck, but it was Kurt who ended up hitting the bludger. With Madoc basically on top of him, Kurt didn't have enough room to aim it well or very forcefully. Madoc immediately launched himself after the black ball, intercepted it, and redirected it at Penny.

Because Paton called out a warning to her, Penny rolled away from Finley to avoid getting hit by the bludger. Jade got in position to hit the ball at Finley, but by then, the Gryffindor chaser had passed it to her teammate, Mildred. Mildred secured the ball under her arm and rocketed away, with Gerry nearby to assist her as necessary. Finley fell behind due to the near bludger hit.

Madoc, meanwhile, tried to use the bludger Jade had just hit at Finley on Franciscus, who was gaining on Mildred and Gerry. Even though Madoc didn't think Franciscus knew the ball was coming, especially since it was coming at him from behind, Franciscus changed course at just the right time to avoid getting hit.

Mildred came at the goals so quickly it looked like she might not be able to stop. She fired the quaffle with a bit of spin, which caused the ball to hit the inside rim of a hoop, bounce to the opposite side, and then fall backwards through the hoop before Beatrix could do anything about it. Then again, it was a foul to push the ball back out from the other side, so Beatrix really couldn't have done much to prevent Mildred's goal.

"Campbell scores! The match is tied again, 30-30!" shouted Willow.

Correspondences & Lending Aid
Author: Minerva McGonagall
Date:   05-29-16 14:41

Professor McGonagall had not intended to miss the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, but she'd found herself busy with various duties between Hogwarts and the Order of the Phoenix. First, she responded to a letter from Mrs. Brycin regarding the unfortunate circumstance into which her daughter Andromeda had gotten herself.

The situation had first been reported to Professor McGonagall by Madam Pomfrey and had resulted in a stern meeting between the Headmistress and Ms. Brycin. This was not the first time Professor McGonagall had spoken to a student about the consequences of unprotected sex, but thankfully it did not occur all too frequently. In fact, the last such conversation had taken place almost exactly ten years ago.

Mrs. Brycin wished to ensure that Andromeda receive proper prenatal care and inquired whether her daughter could leave Hogwarts to see a healer. Professor McGonagall agreed to Ms. Brycin leaving campus for appointments but advised Mrs. Brycin that Madam Pomfrey was more than capable of ensuring Andromeda follow a prenatal regimen. In other words, Ms. Brycin shouldn't leave campus more than absolutely necessary.

Upon learning of the pregnancy, Professor McGonagall also doled out punishment. Ms. Brycin was not a prefect or on the Quidditch team, so removing titles and positions were not options as had been the case ten years ago. Instead, Professor McGonagall gave Ms. Brycin detention. For the remainder of the school year, Ms. Brycin would have to aid Mrs. Blackheart in the library for two hours every Friday and Saturday evening.

Professor McGonagall would also like to punish the father, but she didn't know his identity and Ms. Brycin wasn't telling.

After sending off the letter to Mrs. Brycin, Professor McGonagall turned her attention to SAT correspondences with the other Headmasters and Headmistresses of the participating schools.

She was in the middle of writing to Madame Maxime, when an owl swooped in from one of the open windows. It dropped a scrap of parchment onto her desk and then landed next to a bowl of owl treats to help itself to a snack.

Professor McGonagall lowered her quill and picked up the scrap of paper, which stated in rather illegible scrawl, Outwoods - Under attack! - AD.

Professor McGonagall immediately abandoned her letter-writing, grabbed her wand, and strode swiftly out of her office, down the winding staircase, past the guarding gargoyle, and on her way to the castle exit. Emergencies such as the one she found herself in made her sometimes wish she could disapparate from within the castle. It would save a lot of time.

She increased her pace once she got outside and walked past the noisy Quidditch Pitch, wondering whether Gryffindor and Ravenclaw had the lead. She knew she must be partial as Headmistress, but the Gryffindor in her was cheering on the lions.

Once through the Hogsmeade gates, Professor McGonagall disapparated. She appeared a second later in a rural hamlet and immediately assessed her surroundings. A flash of light in the distance had her sprinting to an old barn. She saw a few wizards in dark robes dueling with Aberforth Dumbledore and a few others, who had also received communications from him.

Outwoods was one of the locations circled in red on a map Elphias Doge had seen while in Adriana Fairchild's presence. The Order of the Phoenix members took turns checking out the marked areas, which often proved uneventful. Not so this time, apparently.

Professor McGonagall threw herself into the action.

Hungry & Thirsty
Author: Saffron
Date:   05-29-16 15:35

Coming to a stop, Bran hovers just far enough off the ground that when he stretches the muscles in his legs, the tips of his toes almost touch the grass covering the pitch. He's this close because he thought he'd seen the snitch. Now that all he sees is grass, grass, and more grass he might as well take a moment to stretch. Lately, his muscles and bones have felt tight and he's forever wanting to stretch. Hope says what their mum tends to say about such things: he's going through a growth spurt. As the cuffs of his trousers and shirts don't seem to hit him in the same spots as they had a few weeks ago, he tends to think Hope's right.

A growth spurt is probably why he's hungry all the time lately. Bran doesn't want to think about food right now but the more he tries not to the more it seems his thoughts are mostly about food instead of the match. Breakfast seems days ago and like many players he didn't load up on an early lunch before the game but will eat a late lunch after the match ends. Something he can do in a matter of seconds if the snitch will cooperate.

Bran's stomach growls as he puts his broom in motion again. Even the snitch reminds him of food though he couldn't put into words what food exactly that would be.

Reaching the end of the pitch, Bran makes a wide, easy turn to go back the other direction. As he comes out of the turn out of the corner of his eye he spots movement. He knows it's not any of the other players, not even the other seeker. Bran can see Leo about halfway down the pitch and much farther from the ground than he is.

Bran jerks his broom around to look for the movement head on. As soon as he turns, the movement is gone. Flying ever so slowly forward, he watches carefully for any sign of more movement.

There!

Bran surges rapidly forward, closing in on that pesky little snitch.

Hand reaching out for it.

Almost there.

Almost.

Thud!

Bran jerks from the bludger smashing him in the side. As he jerks he also blinks. That's all it takes to lose sight of the snitch.

Groaning slightly he sits in the same spot for a minute, looking, looking, looking before accepting that he's lost sight of the snitch for now thanks to either Mickey or Madoc.

Much higher in the air, Kurt only knows that his friend and teammate had spotted the snitch after Willow Westwick announces that Bran's effort was foiled by Mickey Moon. He frowns at this news but there's nothing he can do about it now.

Kurt continues on to the bludger he'd been after when Willow made the announcement, which was thrilling for the Gryffindors, disappointing for the Ravenclaws.

Finley has the quaffle again, having recently stolen it from Penny. Kurt starts to target Finley only to send it after Gerry instead when Finley tosses him the ball. Gerry pushes in to where Beatrix awaits only to lose the quaffle when the bludger from Kurt connects with his arm as he's in the process of cocking it back for the throw towards a hoop. Paton scoops up the quaffle and jets away, Gerry right behind him, intent on getting the quaffle back.

Jade is the one who went after the bludger Mickey had hit far down to where Bran was after the snitch. She uses it now to send after Gerry with the aim of giving Paton a little breathing room. The bludger passes just in front of Gerry, not slowing him down in the slightest.

Kurt goes after that same bludger only to have to back off when Madoc gets to it first. Paton passes to Franciscus and that's where Madoc sends the bludger. Kurt is already in motion to get between Franciscus and the ball but ends up having to slow and then go around the Gryffindor seeker who has appeared as if out of nowhere. When he intercepts the bludger from Madoc, Kurt makes sure Leo isn't after the snitch before hitting the bludger in Mildred's direction.

As Franciscus nears Hunter and his hoops, Kurt wishes there would be a reason for a time out to be called. He's thirsty and could get in a few swallows of water or lemonade before the time out ended. With no reason to call a time out and no one else currently having a reason, Kurt will just have to wait. Racing to get to a bludger before Mickey does, Kurt quickly checks the little pocket where he keeps a tissue or two to see if he's stashed a cough drop there. That would wet his mouth and he wouldn't get in trouble for it because the cough drops are Coach Krum approved for matches. Finding one, he hastens to upwrap it while not slackening his speed or not losing his grip on his bat, popping the cough drop into his mouth just before reaching the bludger.

(Amyas) The News
Author: Capri Brycin
Date:   05-29-16 20:24

Ariel Brycin paced the kitchen of her home and wondered how she was going to tell her husband that her youngest daughter was pregnant.

Amyas walked into the kitchen with Capri's baby and looked at his mother. "What's wrong?" He asked her seeing the concern on her face.

Seeing Amyas she plucked the baby from his arms and started crying. Both of my babies are going to have babies.

Hearing this Amyas took a double take at his mother and said, "what?"

"Your sister is pregnant."

"Uh, Mum, Capri already had her baby…" He joked.

"It's not funny. It's not Capri…" She said and paused.

"Andromeda?" He said quietly. "Oh, man."

Time passed and Capri showed up and she took Zoe Jane from her mother who still was crying over her but not talking to anyone.

"What's with Mum?" Capri asked Amyas.

He sighed and looked at her, "Andromeda is pregnant." He said and waited for it to sink in.

"Oh, shit, you've got to be kidding? Right?" Amyas shook his head.

"Mum showed me the owl from Head Mistress McGonagall. She is pregnant."

The two sat and talked about what would need to happen and how Andromeda was going to handle being a Mum and if she would be able to handle it…This was going to be bad; and her Dad was going to freak out.

"By the way, did Mum act this way when I got pregnant?" Capri asked.

"Yes, she cried over me and over Dad…"

"Oh, Lord." She said and started getting Zoe Jane's stuff together before she was going to leave. A few minutes passed and their father returned home and Capri headed to her home and Amyas left to see Divina and leave her parents alone to talk about their daughter and her pregnancy.

(Willow) Energized
Author: Rowan Westwick
Date:   05-30-16 09:30

Willow reached for the small tin in her pocket. It was rectangular in shape and golden in color, though probably made of a lesser metal. The lid was painted black with yellow and red flowers and green leaves and stems. The design was simple, yet pretty.

Willow opened the lid, folded back the wax paper, and pulled out a piece of pink crystallized candy. She popped one into her mouth. It tasted like bubble gum, but to chew it would crush it into tiny pieces that would get stuck in her teeth. She sucked on the sweet instead, pushing it into her cheek with her tongue anytime she needed to speak, which was often.

"Shrewsbury passes to Vanderbilt! Vanderbilt passes to Puckett! Puckett lines up the shot. She shoots! Green blocks!"

Finley caught the rebound and started to turn around and dart away, only she found herself hemmed in by the other players. She tried to find a way out and lost the quaffle when she tried to hand the quaffle to Gerry. Paton and Franciscus were there to knock the ball free, which bounced from hand to hand until Penny secured it in her grasp.

She turned back to the hoops and tried to score again. The quaffle rebounded off of Hunter's hand and landed in Gerry's arms. Gerry tried to maneuver away, but like Finley, he found it impossible. There was another struggle for the quaffle and then Franciscus had it again. He shot it at the hoop the same time somebody aimed a bludger at Hunter. Hunter took the bludger to the arm in his attempt to stop the quaffle, but the quaffle nevertheless went through the hoop.

"Vanderbilt scores!" Willow shouted. "Ravenclaw leads, 40-30."

She popped a second piece of candy into her mouth and then slid the tin into her pocket. Rowan had given her the tin for her birthday and asked that Willow see whether the sweets boost her energy and make studying for the OWLs more productive. Willow hadn't bothered trying the sweets until a few days ago because she'd gotten a care package from home with other treats, and Amorica had also arranged for the delivery of a tray of mini fairy cakes from Briar's Bakery that had lasted longer than expected.

The bubble gum crystals were surprisingly tasty, and the more Willow ate, the more revitalized she felt. She planned on going to the library to study after the Quidditch match, which was why she'd decided to get a head start with the Smart Crystals.

It didn't take long for the sugar rush to take effect. Willow started talking faster and faster, as if she were an auctioneer instead of a Quidditch commentator.

"Pride passes to Martini-Blackwell. Martini-Blackwell passes to Campbell. Campbell almost gets hit by a bludger! Shrewsbury gets hit by the bludger instead. Oooh, that had to hurt! Campbell passes back to Martini-Blackwell. Martini-Blackwell tries to score! Vanderbilt stops the ball! Vanderbilt hands the ball to Vanderbilt, that's Beatrix to Franciscus, people!!! HEY!! IT LOOKS LIKE MARCHBANKS HAS SEEN THE SNITCH! HE HAS! HE HAS! LOOK AT HIM GOOOOOOOO!"

Race For The Snitch (Leo)
Author: Phinfilius
Date:   05-30-16 15:11

Having no idea for now that the opposing seeker, Bran, is hungry, Leo also cannot stop thinking of food. Unlike Bran he'd not had anything to eat to speak of this morning. When faced with breakfast Leo had found his appetite was off. Not wanting to risk yacking while at some elevation above the pitch during the match, he'd had a triangle of toast with just a dab of blackberry jam.

By the time the game began he didn't feel quite as off and not once has he felt nauseous. Now, he's famished. Leo's stomach has rumbled several times over the past half hour. If he were on the ground and has the right audience he'd pretend to swoon and claim near starvation.

On top of the demand from his stomach for a piled high platter of food, one of Leo's cheeks aches from what is likely a saucer sized bruise. A bludger from Kurt had bounced off Leo's broomhandle to smack him in the face. The bounce had happened so quickly he'd barely had time to react, though what reaction he did have may have saved him from ending up with a nosebleed.

All thoughts of food and his cheek are dashed to the side when Leo spots the snitch. It's moving at a fairly good clip, which means he'll have a harder time of being subtle going after it. He maneuvers his broom after it, attempting to look as though he's continuing to go about his job of seeking the location of the snitch. Any chance of that subtlety is lost when Willow's voice screams across the pitch, "HEY!! IT LOOKS LIKE MARCHBANKS HAS SEEN THE SNITCH! HE HAS! HE HAS! LOOK AT HIM GOOOOOOOO!"

Leo increases his speed, eyes locked on the snitch as it rapidly flies a somewhat wiggly route. A bludger crosses in front of him. The snitch is gone so suddenly Leo has to think it's got some sort of invisibility spell woven into the one that allows it to fly.

He slows slightly, scanning for it. While this is going on the chasers have not slowed with their own part of the game. Franciscus has passed to Penny who passed to Paton who passed back to Franciscus, all the while moving the quaffle away from Beatrix and the hoops she keeps and closer to Hunter and his hoops.

Bran has reached the general area where Leo is, though about two feet higher in elevation. Reaching Hunter Paton throws for a goal but Hunter rebuffs the ball, sending the quaffle straight into Finley's arms. As the chaser action turns back the other direction Leo and Bran spot the snitch at approximately the same time.

Racing after the winged ball, Bran's elevation still about two or so feet higher, the two seekers each try to close the distance to the snitch before the other does. Neither is able to fully break free of the other so as they approach the snitch, which seems to have decelerated, they are practically even.

Leo is reaching up for the snitch while Bran leans over his broom and reaches down. Their fingers brush as they grasp for the snitch. When they pull their hands back, Leo is grossly disappointed that his is empty, the snitch is gone, and the stands are going wild for Bran. Looking up to where Bran now hovers, with a tight smile but sincerity in his tone he says, "Good catch. Congrats."

The rest of the game action comes to an end as Coach Krum blows his whistle and Willow announces Ravenclaw's win. The final score is Ravenclaw 190, Gryffindor 30.

Descending to the ground, unknown to the other, each seeker is now thinking about getting something to eat as soon as possible.
