Dates
Author: Ellis
Date:   02-28-16 16:10

Alys came down the stairs from the girls' dormitory room dressed in a casual white dress over black tights and ankle boots. A cranberry red cardigan completed the outfit. She originally had no plans to attend the Valentine's Day carnival in a dress, but then Kurt Blackwell asked her to go with him. She knew him well enough since he was in all her classes. His asking her out came as a surprise, however, since they rarely socialized outside of class or the common room.

She was delighted to be asked, though.

Alys originally thought she would attend the carnival with Chip, Blakeney, Tessa, and perhaps Conrad and a few others. She'd imagined a normal school outing with her siblings and friends––not a date with a boy!

She spotted Kurt near the portal, shifting from foot to foot as he waited for her to arrive. He smiled when he saw her, which made Alys smile too.

"Ready to go?" Kurt asked, and then he added, "You look great," guessing correctly that it was something Alys wanted to hear him say.

"Yes," Alys replied, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "and thanks."

The two left the common room and decided to check out the outdoor portion of the carnival first.

Blakeney, meanwhile, didn't officially have a date to the carnival. In her mind, it was a total bummer, especially since Alys and Chip definitely weren't going together as a couple. That had been her greatest fear, but apparently they weren't anything more than friends. What a relief!

The other good news was that while Blakeney and Chip weren't officially attending the carnival in a dating capacity, they were at least hanging out together. It wasn't just the two of them, though. Tessa was there, and so was Chip's roommate Jeb Burleigh.

Like Alys, Blakeney had dressed up a little for the occasion. She wore a red dress with three-quarter sleeves over textured brown tights and lace-up boots and had a brown scarf wrapped around her neck. She needed a jacket for outdoors but didn't want to cover up her cute outfit with something bulky, so she decided to try and brave the cold as is. Maybe Chip would notice her shivering and put his arm around her shoulders. That would be romantic!

Tessa, meanwhile, wore jeans, a cable-knit jumper, and a coat. The boys were dressed similarly. Of course Tessa knew what Blakeney was up to and guessed correctly that she wouldn't be able to handle an afternoon in the cold without proper winter attire. It would be amusing to watch her friend try to brave it out, though.

Long Time No See

Chance smiled at her reflection and then snapped a picture of herself with her camera and sent it by owl to Bron with a note saying,

"I am all ready for my date with Justus."

It had been a long time since she had seen Justus Monroe but she was looking forward to seeing him again -- and of all days on Valentine's Day.

Justus had been very happy to hear from Chance again. He was saddened to hear about all that had happened to Chance but he was happy that she had thought of him.

There was a knock at her door and Chance's heart jumped into her throat. It was Justus. And indeed it was. She peered through the peep hole in the door and a smile formed on her face. She pulled open the door...

"Hello." Justus smiled at her and handed her a dozen red roses.

"Hello and thank you." She said as she reached out and took the flowers from him. "Come in." She smiled and stepped back allowing Justus to enter her home.

Looking around Justus smiled. "You have a beautiful home."

"Thank you." She smiled glancing over her shoulder as she walked towards the kitchen so that she could put the flowers into a vase. Pulling a vase out of the cupboard she put some water in it and then placed the lovely flowers in it.

When she was done she walked over to Justus and hugged him. He smiled again and leaned back looking her in the eye and then kissed her softly.

"I've missed you." He whispered.

(Bowen) Toffees
Author: Nathaniel Ross
Date:   02-29-16 14:05

Bowen wasn't really interested in bringing someone with him to the Valentine's Day Carnival. But Pelinore wanted to bring a girl with him, and it seemed like he wanted Bowen there as his wingman. He wanted to ask Mulberry Jones to go to the Valentine's Day Carnival with him but he was afraid she would refuse, if no one asked her fraternal twin sister as well. So Pelinore had asked Bowen to be a good friend and take Abernathy to the carnival. Bowen accepted and Pelinore took care of everything, inviting Mulberry and telling her Bowen would like to take her sister to the carnival as well.

Unlike Mulberry, who was also a Gryffindor, Abernathy was a Ravenclaw and maybe she could be described as a bit quirky. But Bowen was glad that from the twins, he would be spending his time with Abernathy. If things went the wrong way, then he would at least be able to avoid her, since they didn't share the same common room, and although they had classes together, they weren't that many. On the other hand, if Pelinore messed up with Mulberry, he would be in trouble. He had mentioned about wanting to kiss her, but just like Bowen his experience with girls was null and so he wasn't sure about how to proceed. Bowen couldn't give him any advice on that area, and none of them felt comfortable enough to ask anyone else about it. Things would be on Merlin's hands, like Pelinore said.

They met the girls at the entrance of the Great Hall. Mulberry, just like Pelinore, was wearing somewhat fancier clothing. But Bo had dressed himself with a pair of jeans and a shirt of Manchester United. Abernathy was wearing a pink jumper that Bowen had seen her using it before in Hogsmeade, and a grey skirt. After the greetings they entered into the Great Hall and went on their separate ways.

Bowen and Abernathy started checking out the booths.

"I like your shirt," she complimented, as they passed by a booth that measured how strong a couple's love was. They just had to touch some sort of stone. If the stone started to get warm, then it meant the relationship was in the right direction. If the stone remained cold, it meant the feelings the couple had for each other were not the best one.

"Thanks. It's from a football team called Manchester United."

"I love the color, and is that a devil?"

"Yes. They're known as The Red Devils because of it. I got this shirt as a Christmas gift."

"That devil is really funny. It's grinning, isn't it?"

"I guess so," Bowen replied.

Abernathy seemed to be really interested in his shirt. And then she wanted to know more about what other football teams there were. Bowen started telling her about it. Abernathy let go a loud laugh when he told her that the Everton Football Club players were known as The Toffees.

"I love toffees! I could have some right now," she declared.

"Well, why not?" he asked, and they went to a booth that sold all sort of candies. He asked for a bag of toffees and the house elf promptly went to fetch it. He then wished Bowen and Abernathy a happy Valentine's Day, as he handed the bag to Bowen. He noticed how it had a pink ribbon that closed the bag, and how the toffees had a little heart shape.

He quickly handed the bag to Abernathy. She removed the ribbon and tied her blonde hair with it.

"It matches my jumper," she pointed out, as if to justify herself.

She had a piece of toffee and offered one to Bowen. Then she asked if he wanted to check things outside. He agreed, and as they left the Great Hall, he looked around trying to spot Pelinore and Mulberry but there was no sign of them.

Love Potion Station
Author: Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen
Date:   02-29-16 18:01

"Pick your potion," Fritz says, indicating to a row of colored bottles on the table in front of him. The red velvet blanket draped over the table has a sign hanging on the front that says Love Potion Station. None of the potions are actual love potions, of course.

Audrey Appleseed debates the different bottles, which all look different in shape, color and texture. She finally settles on a pale pink, narrow, ribbed bottle.

Fritz picks it up and pulls out the stopper before handing over the bottle with a friendly, "Bottoms up!"

Audrey takes the bottle and hesitates.

"Oh, go on!" encourages her friend Hera Roberts.

Audrey finally knocks back the bottle. The taste is pleasant, like bubble gum, though the potion is the consistency of water. It takes a few seconds for it to work, but then tiny pink hearts start drifting out of Audrey's ears.

Hera starts to laugh.

"What?" Audrey asks, because she doesn't immediately notice the hearts that are now drifting up to the ceiling.

Hera pokes at one, and it pops, showering teeny-tiny bits of confetti to the ground.

"Oh!" Audrey exclaims. She pops a few hearts and laughs as confetti rains down on her.

"The potion will wear off in a minute," Fritz explains, and the minute passes all too quickly.

The potion Hera tries comes in a clear bottle made of beveled glass. It makes her croon a love song in a crystal clear voice. The potion also wears off in a minute, much to Hera's relief!

Fritz and Coco don't have any special Valentine's Day plans because of the carnival, but yesterday they had a nice dinner at a really expensive French restaurant. Fritz is still dreaming about the delicious dessert crepe he ate. The memory is cut short when a boy and girl who might be a couple approach the Love Potion Station.

Fritz smiles at that both and asks, "Care to try a love potion?"

Flying Carpets (Devon)
Author: Christopher Chant
Date:   02-29-16 19:33

Devon wasn't upset that she was not specifically asked by a boy to go with him to the Valentine's Day carnival. That's because she's not sure of any right now she likes enough to go on what would be considered a date. Then, Duncan suggested they go together since they hang out a great deal anyway.

Standing now with Duncan, waiting their turn for the flying carpet ride, for the first time Devon wonders if this is, in fact, a date. When Duncan suggested they go around the carnival together was he meaning it in the sense of they have long time been friends who do a lot together or was he meaning that since they do a lot together anyway, they should come on a date to the carnival? Or is it a bit of both.

Noticing her pensive expression Duncan nudges her. "A knut for your thoughts."

Devon blinks at him before saying, "Oh, nothing really," then trying to make it sound like an afterthought she continues, "I was just wondering many are doing the carnival as actual dates and how many couples aren't couples so much as just friends hanging out."

Duncan is of no help when he nods once and gives the one word response of, "Yeah."

Their turn comes to get on one of the flying carpets, Duncan offering Devon a hand. A couple of first years are allowed on with them, taking spots towards the front. Duncan says in such a low voice that Devon wouldn't hear it if his mouth weren't near her ear, "Bloody hell."

The carpet slowly pulls away from the boarding area, Devon asking him in a whisper, "What?"

"I hoped we could do this just the two of us."

Unsure of how exactly to respond to that and not sure whether he means he preferred to be alone because this is a date or that he simply didn't want to have to share with a couple first years who have been giggling since coming up in line behind the two of them, Devon says nothing. Instead, she gives her full attention to the ride, enjoying the thrill of it.

At about the halfway point Duncan leans into Devon and puts his arm around her. When she turns her head briefly to look his way, he gives her a quick kiss on the lips.

Well, that answers the question of whether this is two friends going around the carnival together or a date.

Devon isn't sure how she feels about it but she also can't stop smiling.

(Justus Monroe) Old Memories
Author: Chance Morgan Lovell
Date:   02-29-16 19:44

"I've missed you too." Chance said with a wide smile. "I never honestly thought I would see you again after I moved away."

A soft smile formed on Justus' face as he pulled Chance to him and kissed her softly. "I never realized just how much I missed you until I saw you again."

Chance blushed a light shade of pink.

"So do you want to go to lunch?" Justus asked.

Chance really wanted to stay home and take Justus up to her bedroom and do all those naughty things that she dreamed of doing back when she was in school. "Yes, I think that would be nice." She said as she moved to kiss him again. "I think it is a really good idea because if we don't leave now then I am afraid we might not leave at all." She whispered against his lips.

Justus smiled and let off a bark of laughter. "I understand because I am feeling the same way." And before he moved away from her he whispered, "you never know what the night will hold."

Giggling Chance got her cloak and they left her home for a little romantic bistro in the heart of Muggle London.

"This is a place I've been to a few times on business meetings and I thought you might like it."

"I am sure I will love it." She said as they apparated to a private place in London and walked to the bistro.

Taking her hand Justus smiled to himself and they walked and talked like they had not been apart for the last ten years. It was like she had not been married to Torrance and had not had her disastrous relationship with Jonathan. It was like the two had been together for all those years and she was loving the feeling she got just being with him.

Justus just want watched her as she looked over her menu. He thought about all the things that he wanted to say to her, about the things he had thought about over the years and about the things that he wanted to do with her both in the bedroom and out. Without her knowing because he did not want to interfere in her life he kept track of her...thanks to the help of his Auror training.

"I am really sorry about your husband..." He finally said after he set his menu down.

Chance's smile faltered but only slightly and she said, "thank you." She thought for a moment and then said, "How did you know about Torrance?"

"I had heard from friends about him."

"Oh." She said softly. "I..." She started then stopped. She didn't really want to talk about Torrance. She loved him and always would but he was also a part of her past and that was where he needed to stay. "I am sure then you've heard about Jonathan?"

Justus nodded his head. "I am also sorry to hear about the two babies you lost."

"Thank you." Chance said with a small chuckle, not that it was funny, but what she found funny was that he knew so much about what was going on in her life. "How do you know so much about my life?"

He shrugged his shoulders and said, "I used to be an Auror so it was my job to know things about people. I guess I never stopped loving you Chance. I wanted to know how you were doing over the years."

"Why didn't you get in touch?" She asked as the waiter arrived to take their order. The two ordered and then Chance turned back to Justus.

"Because you had your own life. You were married and making a name for yourself with your career...it just wasn't the right time. But now here we are..."

She smiled at him again and reached across the table for his hand, "yes, here we are."

Valentine's Day
Author: Alaia Rothstein
Date:   02-29-16 20:19

Alaia thought about what she was going to cook for dinner for Lee and smiled. She was making homemade prosciutto and cheese ravioli with a white wine cream sauce, an Italian baguette and some risotto. It was something she loved making and had never made it for Lee in the time that they had been together so it was going to be something special. Then for dessert she was making an Italian torta.

She had been so busy with work and Lee with his that they had not had a lot of time together. It made her sad but they both understood because they needed to work. There were times when she still thought about it and could not believe that she was Mrs Sickelby. She smiled at the thought and then giggled.

"What are you laughing at?" Divina asked of her best friend.

"I just can't believe I am married. I am so happy. I love Lee more than I could have ever imagined loving anyone." She gushed.

"So have you guys talked about babies yet?" Divina laughed and then went serious on her best friend.

"Sorta. It's been mentioned that we both want a family. But we have not put a date on when we want to start trying for a baby."

"Maybe tonight?" Divina laughed. "You know it is the most romantic night of the year."

"Yes, I know." Alaia giggled. "The thought was indeed something to think about. She did want a family and she knew that Lee did too...maybe tonight would be a good night to talk to him about it.

The front door chimed and Alaia heard Lee's voice. She breathed deeply and smiled. "We are in the back." She called. Lee walked into the kitchen and pulled his wife into his arms and smiled at her before kissing her firmly. "I love you." She whispered.

"I love you too."

"So, what are you doing home so early? I wasn't expecting you until your normal time."

"Oh, I thought I would surprise you." He grinned. "Surprise!"

Alaia giggled and hugged her husband.

"Can you come home?"

Divina shot her best friend a look and then winked at her; Alaia giggled again and nodded her head at Lee. She took Lee's hand and they apparated home.

At The Carnival
Author: Briar Rose
Date:   03-01-16 13:57

Over an hour after the flying carpet ride Duncan still can't believe he got up the nerve to kiss Devon. He only thought his hands were clammy before. He swears the sides of his trousers are damp from how many times since then he's run his hands down his legs.

Devon didn't slap him or jerk away or make an atrocious face so Duncan has to think she didn't mind the kiss. It wasn't much of a kiss and it was brief but if she hated it, Devon would have reacted. Wouldn't she? She wouldn't have continued with Duncan at the carnival, sometimes even holding one of his hands, a hand he periodically swipes down his trouser leg.

Across the room Grace has no idea of her cousin's inner turmoil. She had seen Duncan and Devon together earlier but didn't think much about it because it's not uncommon to see one with the other.

At twelve, her birthday being in October, Grace likes boys but unlike some her age and younger she does not yet like boys. She is perfectly happy to chum around with good friends Oliver and Rand. One girl has cattily referred to them as Grace's two boyfriends. Grace ignores her. They are boys and they are her friends. She doesn't see the need to make an issue of it. Her mum or dad would probably tell her the other girl is jealous though Grace has no idea what of, unless it's that Grace makes better marks than the other girl. Grace can't help that she's a naturally good student or that a lot of what they're being taught as first years comes easily to Grace and in some cases are things she mastered years ago in secret.

Now that she's a student, surrounded by other students, and coming into contact with so many different outlooks and ideas, often parroted information from parents and grandparents, Grace better understands her parents concern and worry all these years about others learning of Grace's abilities. One good thing that's come of their insistence on secrecy for such a long time is that Grace is fairly good at hiding just how many things are a snap for her and it's helped her not be boastful or have a show-off attitude. She's not sure if she'd have a tendency for either but there have been a few times when someone would be blathering on about how easy a spell was or how quickly it was mastered that Grace would want to show up the other just to get the other to stop.

Rand hands Grace a set of three darts. "Your turn."

The darts have sharp points but are spelled so that those points will only pierce the target and its surrounding backboard. This is one of the games with a House Elf, there mostly from what Grace can tell to keep students from testing whether those dart points really won't pierce skin or clothing or anything other than the target and backboard.

Rand was able to get all three darts within the target area, including one near the bullseye. His point total earned him a pick of a large back of chocolates or a large baggie of hard candies. He's picked the hard candies, offering one to Oliver and to Grace as she takes hold of one of the darts to aim. Her first throw isn't great but is within the target. Her next throw is about halfway between the outer rim and the center point. Her third is a little beyond that. The House Elf, whose is Greg, gives Grace a choice between a small bag conversation type hearts and a chocolate bar with hazelnuts. Finding the conversation hearts amusing, the words and tiny images on each constantly changing, such as one that has "You're pretty," interchanging with, "But I'm prettier," Grace takes the hearts.

Popping one into her mouth, pleased with its raspberry flavor, Grace joins Rand to the side to watch Oliver have a go. This is where Briar finds her to say goodbye.

Because she's seeing staff member Ethan Somerset, Briar was invited to attend. With this being Valentine's Day, she could only come for a short time with much of that time taking a turn running the ever popular Cake Walk game, a good number of the items available having been made by Briar's Bakery.

After saying her goodbyes to Ethan and to Grace and waving at Duncan from across the room, Briar hurries back to Hogsmeade. The bakery is busier than usual today, with numerous special Valentine's orders as well as three different weddings she and the bakery are providing the cakes for. It was nice, though, to be able to take a little time to participate with the carnival. By the time she reaches the bakery, Briar's mind is firmly on getting the first of the cakes delivered to the reception venue and on how much there is still left to do before this day is over.

(Arielle) Tunnel of Love
Author: Jolyon
Date:   03-01-16 18:11

Arielle took Malden's hand and climbed into the boat that would take them through the Tunnel of Love. After she settled onto the seat, Malden sat down next to her and gently clasped her hand. She smiled but said nothing, since there really were no words to describe how she was feeling.

She never thought she would find Malden as charming as she did these days. For a long time he had been nothing more than her brother's best friend. As her brother wasn't the most pleasant of people, Arielle had never found Malden very kind or interesting either. He'd been someone she'd avoided.

Lately things were different. Malden always spoke with her whenever Asher wasn't around, and sometimes they talked for a good while about a great many things. Arielle discovered that Malden wasn't just her brother's boorish friend. He was actually quite nice. He was also kind of cute.

And then a few days ago, in one of the rare moments whenever Asher and Malden weren't side by side, Malden asked Arielle to the Valentine's Day carnival. Delighted to be asked, Arielle had said yes, and the rest was history.

The boat drifted through the darkened tunnel while romantic music played in the background. Malden kept his hand on Arielle's throughout the whole boat ride, but that was all he did and that was probably for the best. Arielle wasn't sure she wanted to try kissing yet, though perhaps kissing in the dark was better for a novice kisser. Arielle feared she might be bad at it.

Eventually, the boat came out of the tunnel and pulled to the side so that the couple could disembark. Arielle was shocked to see Asher standing on the edge of the water, not far from where all passengers climbed out of the boats. He was staring right at her and Malden, which for some reason gave her a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Malden helped her out of the boat and then led her to where Asher stood with his hands in his pockets.

"Hey," he said.

Asher looked totally nonchalant when he replied, "Hey."

Arielle felt stunned. She just knew her brother would say something at seeing her emerge from the Tunnel of Love with Malden. And Malden was still holding onto her hand.

"Are you okay?" she blurted out.

Asher shot her a puzzled glance and shrugged. "Why wouldn't I be?"

Arielle could think of a lot of different ways to answer that question, but she didn't voice any of her thoughts when she noticed the secret smile on Malden's face. She quirked an eyebrow and wondered just what sort of agreement the friends had made to make this date possible.

Caleb
Author: Sophie McCourt
Date:   03-02-16 13:31

Sophie and Mickey were on the line to enter the tunnel of love. Mickey was talking, but she wasn't paying much attention to what he was saying. Her mind was on Caleb. Yesterday, when they were about to depart from the common commons in order to go to bed, he had asked her if she wanted to go to the Valentine's Carnival with him. Sophie's first impulse was to say yes, but then she recalled that she had made the same promise to Mickey. He had asked her a year ago, when they went to the Valentine's ball together. Mickey asked Sophie if she would want to repeat it next year and she said 'yes', not knowing he was serious about it. Generally he liked to fool around. But he had reminded her of her promise, and when Caleb had asked her, she knew she couldn't accept. Sophie imagined Caleb alone at the Ravenclaw common room, probably doing homework. She felt sorry for him.

"The line is too long," she complained. "Maybe we should try something else."

"No, it's almost our turn. I'm curious about this tunnel. What if inside it's a crazy roller-coaster, with a looping?"

"I don't think so. Just look at the face of the people who are leaving. They don't seem like they have come out of a roller-coaster."

"Well, your friend Caleb does," he noticed.

Sophie turned her head to the people leaving the tunnel of love. Caleb had his brown hair in a mess. Patricia was walking next to him. She was wearing a blue dress, and a silver hairband. She had clearly dressed up for this occasion and was wearing a necklace, and bracelet. She looked much older with these sort of clothing.

"Isn't that your sister with Quigley? I didn't know he liked the youngest ones…" Mickey teased.

Sophie ignored him, as she looked in fury to the two of them. What was Caleb thinking, inviting Patricia to the carnival? And why was her sister so dressed up, and not ashamed to be with an older boy? She wanted to go and confront them, but it was hers and Mickey's turn to enter the tunnel. Caleb and Patricia went out of her sight.

While Sophie was inside the tunnel, Patricia departed from Caleb, without a word. She had no pair for the Valentine's Day carnival, and it never occurred to her to go with a boy. Of course she had daydreamed about going with Caleb, but not in a million years she thought such thing would happen. She had planned to check out the grounds on her own, when she saw Caleb at the Ravenclaw common room, translating some runes, for his Ancient Runes homework. She had asked him what he was doing there, and he replied he had no date for the carnival.

"Me too," she revealed and then she suggested they should go together, just to keep each other company. Caleb agreed and Patricia went back to her dorm and she quickly dressed up, wanting to look pretty for Caleb. Then they went to the grounds together and after some time exploring the booths, she asked him to go to the tunnel of love.

Inside of it, she decided to lean a little bit against Caleb. He smelled like parchment and to something else she could not identify but that pleased her. Patricia wouldn't mind staying like this forever. But things changed when Caleb leaned closer to her and kissed her. She was caught by surprise, and her eyes open wide, when she felt his tongue inside her mouth. Patricia pushed him aside, scared. It seemed like something took over him, when he kissed her, and suddenly he wasn't the Caleb she idolized but an older boy, she didn't know. A stranger.

"I'm sorry," he told her, as they were leaving the tunnel. "I thought this was what you wanted. Your clothes and the way you leaned against me…"

She shook her head, still in shock. Yes, it was what she wanted, but now she wasn't so sure about it. When they emerged into the daylight, neither of them noticed Sophie. Patricia just said goodbye to Caleb and marched back to the castle. He didn't try to follow her, but he shouted another apology. This has been Patricia's first kiss and it had been horrible! She went back to her dorm, still a little bit frighten and disappointed.

Low-Key
Author: Hermione Granger
Date:   03-02-16 18:13

Hermione and Ron sat on a bench in the park and watched Rose play on a spring rider shaped like a winged horse. It was a nice day to be outside, though a little on the cool side. The sun was already starting to slide down to the horizon, and with the coming darkness would also come a dip in the already cold temperature.

"We should think about packing it in soon," Hermione remarked.

The couple had originally thought to perhaps drop Rose off at the Burrow if they could get reservations at a restaurant for the evening, but in the end they settled on a quiet evening at home. Both remembered what happened last Valentine's Day right there in Hogsmeade, and though there'd been no indication that the Death Eaters would attack this year, the whole village was a little on edge.

"Did you decide what you wanted the master chef to cook for you tonight?" Ron asked, with a grin and a light poke to Hermione's side.

"Pizza."

"Pizza? That's not very romantic."

"I'm sorry, but Jazpony is craving pepperoni pizza."

"Please don't call him that."

"Him?" Hermione asked, grinning at Ron. "How are you so sure the baby is a boy?"

"Just a feeling." Ron got up and called over to Rose.

She stopped her almost violent forward and backward motion on the horse and looked at him with large eyes and a trembling lip. Rose was not ready to leave the park yet.

"Five more minutes, then," Ron said, but instead of sitting back down on the bench, he held out his hand to help Hermione to her feet. They continued to hold hands as they walked over to the winged horse, which was now bouncing back and forth again with Rose on its seat.

In the last month or two, Elphias Doge had provided the Order with a lot of intelligence on the Death Eaters. Much of it was just snippets, but the snippets were more information than the Order had gotten recently, which was little to nothing at all. Hermione herself wanted to get more involved, but under the current circumstances she understood why Ron wanted her to stay out of a fight if it came down to one. She'd already lost one pregnancy due to a Death Eater, after all.

"Rose, let's go have pizza," Hermione finally said, a little before the five minute time limit had actually been reached.

Rose started to pout again but then she jumped off the horse and took her mother's outstretched hand. Ron took her other hand, and together, the family left the park for home.

How Not To Spend Your Birthday
Author: Cai Pembroke Carter
Date:   03-03-16 16:48

This was not how I'd intended on spending my birthday. Let alone Valentine's Day. Damien was currently warming up a bowl of the soup that my mom had brought over to the flat, and I was currently curled on the sofa under a fuzzy blanket. I'd just taken another dose of the potion the healer had given me at the clinic I'd gone to last night when I'd stopped keeping food in.

"I'm capable of warming up soup babe," I said, though the words were barely above a whisper.

"It's fine, I don't mind doing it. Besides you deserve to be pampered when you're sick. That and it's Valentine's Day and your birthday. It just means that I have to postpone our fancy dinner reservations, and we can throw your birthday party later or just skip it all together," Damien offered, handing me the warm soup, that he'd put in a large mug that could double as a bowl.

I sipped from the soup, allowing the warmth to radiate through me. I managed to hand over the mug before the coughing fit started. Once it eased, I sipped from the mug again, sighing as I leaned into him. I sighed contently as his fingertips started massaging my shoulders.

"Just relax babe, I've got the WWN on and turned down a bit so it won't hurt your head. Just let me know if you want me to change it at all," He said with a light press of lips to the top of my head, before he would sink back into the cushions of the couch.
