Easter Egg Hunt Photos
Author: Carys
Date:   03-07-10 17:44

Carys had heard from someone who'd heard from someone else that there would be an Easter egg hunt at Hogwarts on the third of April, one that was open to anyone, not just students from the school. She'd already made up her mind to take Tristan, so that he could have more exposure to other children his age, and because it was something different for him. The other reason Carys wanted to go is because she wanted to visit her old school. She didn't think about Hogwarts that much, but when she did, she missed it. She was sorry that she never graduated because she got pregnant, but she wasn't sorry that she had Tristan in her life.

Sometime before the actual day of the Easter egg hunt, Professor Dumbledore of all people approached Carys and invited her to take official photographs of the event. She didn't know how he'd learned that she was into photography these days or that she had a job as student photographer at St. Emrys University, but then again, Dumbledore had always seemed all-knowing. Carys had agreed to participate and had brought not only Tristan but her grandfather Alun to Hogwarts, so that he could keep an eye on his grandson while Carys took photographs.

She started off in the area for the youngest Easter egg hunters, snapping pictures of not only Tristan but the other little boys and girls who flitted around in adorable Easter outfits and carrying baskets. After a time, she kissed Tristan on the head and told him to stay with Alun. Then, she set off to visit the other marked off areas on the grounds.

Carys took photos of students, of teachers, of the flowers in bloom, of the castle. She looked around for familiar faces but saw very few. Some of the other students had been at Hogwarts the same time as she, but Carys didn't really know them since she was so much older. Even the staff had changed in some cases since she'd last attended the school.

She moved into an area where anyone could hunt for eggs and lifted her camera. Carys took photograph after photograph, and eventually she saw a familiar face in the viewfinder. He was some distance off at first, but as he approached, he spotted her easily.

She took a picture of him when he drew near and then lowered her camera.

"You made it."

Griff nodded. "Wasn't sure I would, but here I am. Where's our son?"

"He's in one of the zones with my grandfather. I'll walk you to them," Carys replied.

She started to lead him there, when he placed a hand on her arm and said, "I don't want to disturb you while you're working. I can probably find it or ask someone to direct me there."

Carys waved her hand. "I've taken tons of photos already. Besides, I want to see how Tristan's doing."

She led Griff to where she'd last seen her son and grandfather and found them sitting together in the grass. Tristan had chocolate all over his face and hands. His eyes lit up at the sight of his parents, and he got up to give them both big, chocolately hugs.

Full Baskets

Ronan and Titus were sprawled out on the grass with full Easter baskets next to them. They had started hunting later than most, but it seemed that they hadn't missed out on anything since there'd still been plenty of eggs left to find. Even now, it appeared that not all of the Easter eggs that had been hidden on the grounds had been located, since a lot of the other students were still finding some.

The boys had started going through their findings. Ronan had picked up mostly chocolate, but he'd gotten several coupons for Hogsmeade stores which he planned on using during the next trip to the village. He'd also gotten a pair of tickets to a professional Quidditch match, which he couldn't wait to attend.

He lay back in the grass and folded his arms behind his head. It wasn't exactly the warmest of days, but it was nice enough. The sun shone brightly, and there was a bit of a breeze.

"I thought you said you had to go meet your girlfriend," Ronan remembered.

"She said she might come. It depends on her work situation," Titus replied. "She's always working, it seems."

"I guess that's what happens when you graduate and grow up," Ronan mused.

"Yeah." Titus chuckled. "Actually, maybe I'll walk around and see if I can find her, in case she is here and is looking for me." He got to his feet. "See you later."

"See you."

Ronan closed his eyes. Napping under the sun seemed like a fine idea. He didn't doze off, though. After a while, he opened his eyes again to find Artemis in the grass next to him. She smirked at him.

"You know, someone could have stolen your eggs," she said.

"Maybe I heard you coming," Ronan replied, though he really hadn't. He sat up and looked at her basket. "You did well."

"I think so, yeah."

"Going to share?"

Artemis moved her basket away from Ronan and grinned. "Nope."

Ronan laughed. "Fine, be that way." He unwrapped a foil-covered egg and popped the whole piece of chocolate into his mouth. Ronan didn't want to eat all of his chocolate right now, because it would spoil his dinner and probably give him a stomach ache, but he wasn't sure he had the self-control to stop at just one or two.

He spent the remainder of the afternoon relaxing on the grounds, talking to Artemis and trying not to eat too much chocolate.

(Anthony) In Thought

Alex pulled on Anthony's pant leg with a chocolate-stained hand and said, "More!"

Anthony knelt down and gently shook his head. "How about we save the rest of the chocolate for later, Alex. You don't want to get a tummy ache, do you?"

Alex shook his head. "No."

Anthony looked over his shoulder, where he could see a bright blue egg nestled in patch of grass. "Why don't you see if you can find some more eggs," he suggested. He nudged Alex is the right direction and then looked down at the small chocolate stain on his jeans.

"That's what happens when you mix children with chocolate," Plum remarked with a laugh.

Anthony got up, figuring he might as well wait and clean up after Alex got washed up himself. He turned to Plum and draped an arm around her shoulders. She reciprocated by putting her arm around his waist.

Plum's smiles were rare and far between these days, since she feared that her grandmother would take Alex away from her and Anthony. He worried about it, too. In a way, Anthony felt almost like Alex's father. After all, he and Plum were two adults very much in love who were raising a young child together. They almost seemed like a real family. In fact, Anthony thought they were one, even if there was nothing official or legal about it.

And that had him thinking. What if Anissa ignored Laura Reese-Emerson's intervention just like she seemingly did everything Plum and Anthony told her and brought in some sort of family authority to determine whether or not Anthony and Plum were capable of continuing to raise Alex? He and Plum certainly were capable, but what if an official inquiry thought Alex would be better off with his great grandmother? Anthony and Plum weren't married. They were shacking up together. Maybe that was a mark against them.

He did want to marry Plum someday, but he'd always imagined the romance in his proposal, not the urgency to get married so as to give Alex the appearance of a better, more stable homelife.

He turned his head toward Plum's and lightly pressed his lips to her temple. With any luck, the whole thing with Anissa would blow over completely without the need for drastic measures.

Meeting up with Jim
Author: Oreileah McCoi

Orei thankfully had convinced Maddie into taking a half day at work - so that she could come to the Castle with her for the Easter Egg Hunt. They'd not yet met up with Jim or Titus, but they were heading that way.

"Maddie!" Both girls turned and smiled when they saw Titus approaching. "About time you got here." He said with a grin and hugged her tightly.

"Sorry, work ran late. I found a couple of eggs while I was looking for you.." She said, holding up the basket with about half a dozen eggs in it.

"I'll catch up with you later Orei." Maddie said as she and Titus wandered toward a shady spot to sit and talk. Orei contniued to mill about the common area for the guests not within Houses. She smiled when she saw Ronan and Artemis sitting and talking.

"Hey, have either of you seen Jim?" She asked, and Artemis pointed toward the cluster of trees near the lake.

"He was over there the last time I saw him Orei. Are we still on for a group lunch the next hogsmeade trip?" She asked, and Orei nodded.

"Yeah, Crown and Cauldron, at about eleven thirty. Maddie and I both have the day off work." Orei looked to Ronan. "You are welcome to come as well, I know you and Titus are pretty good friends, and the more the merrier."

She talked with them for a few more minutes before heading off toward the cluster of trees near the lake, hunting for her boyfriend.

She snuck up behind him, he was currently talking to Duncan Day and Silvia Karl, and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I see you've already found someone to spend the afternoon with." She smiled and laughed when he jumped in surprise. Duncan and Silvia laughed at his surprise because they'd seen her coming up behind him.

"Well, I was wondering when you'd show up." He said, sliding an arm around her shoulders and holding her close. "Find any eggs on your way to find me?" He asked, brandishing his own brimming easter basket.

"A couple. Maddie and I managed each about half a dozen eggs before she met up with Titus. I stopped and talked to Artemis, and I think his name is Ronan, a friend of Titus'." She said and leaned into him. "Also invited him to the group lunch on the next village trip, since Maddie and I both have the day off work and won't have much to worry about."

"Sounds like a plan. Hopefully I can spend some time with you over the break, because I got tickets to the Weird Sisters show in one of my eggs." Jim said with a grin down at his girlfriend who nodded. "I think that can be arranged, since you are going home for the holiday."

The four talked for a bit, before Orei and Jim broke off and went to spend some time by themselves.

It hurt so much
Author: Linnea Rose
Date:   03-08-10 12:33

Linnea thought that the headache would never stop she had been in Hospital wing when and asked for some aspirin of Madame Pomfrey. She had got some and was now heading for the dormitory to get some sleep.

Linnea went through the corridor and into the dormitory and right to the bedroom where she lay on the bed and tried to sleep a little.
She just lay there sleeping and dreaming, while her head hurt so much.

A few hours later Linnea waked up from a nice sleep and she was very glad, because the headache had stopped and she thought she might just relax for the day.

So Linnea took up one of her favourite books and started to read a little in it and did so for a long-time and thought that was actual very relaxing as there was nobody in the room so she thought it was just like sitting in the library and read. It was so good that the headache had stopped hurt because otherwise she would be so upset on everybody that she would met later that day.

She read for some hours and then she thought it might be time to go and have some food. She wasn’t so sure about the time so she turned her head to the clock.
Oh my god the clock was almost 2 o’clock so Linnea know she had miss the lunch and she might go and have some fruits in the common room. So she went up from the bed and went out from the dormitory and in to the corridor and went on to the common room.

Don't Ruin Supper
Author: Saffron
Date:   03-08-10 18:42

"I'm getting another basket," Deak informs Aaron and Saffron, dropping a nearly overflowing basket onto the blanket beside them.

"You've already filled two. You're playing fair, aren't you?" Aaron asks.

"Of course," Deak says, not seeming perturbed in the least to have been asked that quested.

Saffron picks up Nic's basket and holds it out, "Here, top this one off."

Aaron and Deak say at the same time, "It's pink."

Saffron smiles bemusedly at them. "Yes, I'm quite aware this basket is pink," Saffron says of the chiffon and lace confection that is Niccola's first Easter basket. This is her second Easter but because of all that was taking place that first year, there was no first Easter cutesy outfit or pretty little basket.

Aaron says, "If it were simply pink, I'd be suggesting right along with you for Deak to take it."

"It is simply pink."

"No, it's frilly, lacey, very girlish pink."

"How silly of me to suggest Deak take it."

"Deak's standing right here."

Aaron and Saffron exchange a look and Aaron nods then they both look at the teen. Saffron carefully empties Deak's basket, adding its contents to the pile from the first time he'd filled it. "Don't hog all the eggs," she reminds, handing him back the basket.

"There are still tons, so I don't think I'm hogging any," he replies before asking, "How many are there anyway and if any aren't found, how will anyone know?"

"I'm not sure exactly how many were hidden in each area," Aaron says. "A whole lot."

Saffron answers the other part of the question. "My understanding is that the house elf Dobby who coordinated the hunt has house elf magic in place that will let him know if all the eggs are accounted for."

Deak pops a piece of chocolate in his mouth and starts off, most likely heading to find where his friends Jack and Wiggy had gotten off to. He grins over his shoulder at them when Saffron says, "Don't eat so much you spoil your supper."

"Does that apply to me as well," Aaron asks, opening one of Nic's eggs and holding out a piece of the candy from it to Saffron.

"Only if you don't want to actually eat supper when we meet Bernie and Andie," Saffron says in reference to Aaron's former co-worker and flatmate when he'd first moved to London and to Bernie's wife.

Aaron eyes the rest of the candy from the egg. "I suppose I can exhibit some self control, though it will be difficult."

Saffron gives the candy her own look of longing. "I know what you mean." She picks up an egg with a coloring and decoration that reminds Saffron of a type of butterfly. "Sirius said his daughter found an egg that was decorated like a ladybird and that it held a pass to that new insectarium."

"You think that eggs has one?"

"It reminds me of a butterfly, so I was thinking there might be a theme there."

"Yeah, now that you say that, I see what you mean. Break it open." His eyes flit to Nic's sleeping form. Even at 16 months of age, she'd had a ball hunting for eggs but after fighting the added exhaustion all that energy and excitement brought, she'd finally passed out. Literally. One second she was on the grass, crawling on all fours, hand on an egg, and the next second she was sound asleep, little butt stuck up in the air, hand still on the egg, head on the ground. Aaron affectionately rubs Nic's leg. "If she were old enough to know how many eggs she collected today, we wouldn't eaten any with candy."

"Very true," Saffron grins, already in the process of opening the butterfly egg. Inside is a small butterfly shaped barette, little butterfly candies that start flitting around them as soon as the egg is opening, and a slip of paper that, as hoped, is a pass to the new insectarium.

"If Deak's interested in going, we can visit during spring break."

"Nic's a little young to truly enjoy it but I think it will be fun," Saffron says, reading over the information written on the pass.

"Me too. You do realize we should eat this butterfly candy before it flies away?"

Saffron grins again, "But of course."
