Shopping Together (Hunter, Jade, & Olive)
Author: Emerald Green
Date:   03-02-13 12:22

Aunt Blythe had sent Olive funds to split with Jade and Hunter for the purchase of Secret Santa presents. They'd decided that instead of actually splitting the money, they'd meet up in Hogsmeade and shop together. This was particularly fine with Hunter as he's not overly keen on shopping to begin with unless it's for candy or something sports related, say looking at Quidditch brooms, and he always feels like he's chosen the wrong gift, even when it's a gift for one of his sisters. He should know them well enough not to second guess himself every single birthday they have and at Christmas. Every now and then, maybe, but not every single time; but, he does. That he's got the name of someone in his house, though a couple of years ahead of him, who used to play in the Gryffindor team does not make selecting a present marginally easier. He's stumped and is glad to have Olive's and Jade's input.

When first arriving in Hogsmeade Olive had roamed awhile from shop to shop with Zuberi getting some ideas. Jade had done the same with a few of her friends, looking not only for Secret Santa ideas but also for gifts to give those friends and a few family members. Hunter had gone with his friends to Blossom's Gaming Center where he'd mainly played laser tag, running around getting hot and sweaty so that going back out again seemed both a relief to his warm skin but also served to make the air seem even colder than it is. At the arranged time the siblings met in front of Briar's Bakery, where Olive had just bought a dozed cookies still warm from the oven. Holding the bag open for Jade and Hunter to help themselves she'd asked, "Any preference on where to start?"

"Nope," Hunter had replied before practically inhaling his first of the cookies.

Jade had shaken her head. "Wherever you want to go first."

Olive had noticed some jewelry at Gladrags, some of it on sale. As Jade and she not only both have girls, girls who are sisters at that, she suggests starting there. At Gladrags Hunter wanders over to look at the smaller jewelry and watch selection of men's items. Jade, who'd not made it into Gladrags when with her friends starts with one rack of mixed jewelry, intently perusing it. Olive, on the other hand, wants to take a second look at a pendant she'd seen when here before.

Just as she reaches that part of the jewelry display, Mason Jeffers takes the very necklace she'd wanted to look at again. That's the only one like it and even if it weren't Olive wouldn't want to get the exact same thing. Something similar would be okay but she wouldn't want to knowingly buy the exact pendant someone else is getting.

Olive studies other jewelry on the same display them moves to the next, her eyes falling on a pair of earrings that she decides will be much better than that pendant. The necklace had a single C on it. The earrings each have double Cs and as her Secret Santa recipient is a double C, Cai Carter, Olive picks removes them from the display for a better look. They're pretty and they are part of the holiday sale. Satisfied she's found the right gift, she looks to see what her brother and sister are doing.

Olive nearly jumps as she turns to find Jade right there, holding up something for Olive to see. The something turns out to also be a pair of earrings, these a curly filigree with pearls in a pretty purple color. "I really like these. Do you think she will?"

"I don't know Angharad to speak of so I'm not sure. They are very nice though."

"I'm going to get them then."

Olive holds out her hand. "Give them to me and we can pay for everything together."

Walking over to where Hunter is still looking, Jade asks, "Any luck?"

"I like some of these watches. This one, that one, and that are the ones I keep going back to."

"I like this one best," Jade says, tapping the strap of one of the ones Hunter had indicated.

"It's cool looking," Olive agrees.

The watch is a little more than Hunter's third of the Secret Santa money but the earring's Olive picked out are on sale and it turns out the ones Jade selected are as well, which leaves enough from their shares for Hunter to get the watch. Removing it from the stand it's on, Olive takes all three items to the register as she asks, "Do you two want to go with me to lunch? I'm meeting Zuberi at the Crown & Cauldron."

The twins had no specific lunch plans, not knowing how long they'd be with Olive so they readily agree to go with her. A few minutes later they're leaving Gladrags, on their way to eat but also all thinking about what other gifts they have left to buy between now and Christmas.

The Fish
Author: Sophie McCourt
Date:   03-02-13 12:41

Today Sophie didn't attend the school's Quidditch workshop, held by Coach Krum. Instead she was at the almost desert room that was the common commons, watching a small golden fish, swimming in a bowl, on one of the wooden tables.

"Do you think he will like it?" she asked Caleb, who was seated nearby in a sofa reading a book.

"Of course. I wouldn't mind have one myself, but Boo would probably eat it."

At the mention of his name, the cat, which was sleeping next to Caleb, opened his eyes and raised his head. After looking at his owner, Boo turned his head to the fish, curious.

"What did I tell you?" Caleb said, petting his cat and telling him that the golden fish was not meant for him to eat.

Sophie observed the fish again. She had drawn the name of Leonine Marchbanks for the Secret Santa and the gold fish and its bowl was meant to him. Leonine was also a first year but he belonged to the Gryffindor house and Sophie had some of her classes with him. She knew he had no pets and she thought on offering him one.

A fish seemed a good idea, since it was not very expensive and it didn't need much effort to maintain. Sophie was almost sure Leonine parents would not mind it.

She had ordered the fish from MacFusty's Pets and Clinic and it had arrived this morning. Sophie planned to keep it in her dorm until the right moment came to send it to Leonine.

"You think I should name it? Do you think it's a girl or a boy?"

"I don't know," Caleb replied. "Maybe that should be up to Leonine to decide."

"I guess you're right," she replied.

She stared at the fish for a little more and then she decided to take it to her dorm and then go for a walk outside with Caleb.

"We can have a snow battle. But without hands. We can use the levitation spell we learned in class," she suggested to her friend.

"I don't know. It's warm here," he looked at her from the sofa, lazily.

But she didn't let him win. Instead she walked to her dorm carefully not to drop the fish bowl, and then when she returned she started to pull Caleb by his robes, making him to stand up. She challenged him again for a snow battle, telling him he was just refusing to face her because he was afraid to lose. Sophie even added that it didn't matter how much Flitwick had praised him and his skills, that it was not a matter of the technique of the spell, but its efficacy and she was pretty sure she would beat him.

Finally she managed to press the right buttons and Caleb went with her outside ready to prove how wrong she was. The two friends walked together to the snowy grounds, enjoying this beautiful winter day.

What To Buy? (Zuberi & Marjani)
Author: Viktor Krum
Date:   03-02-13 15:31

After parting ways with Olive this morning Zuberi had his own shopping to do. Olive had offered to help him with some of it, including the secret santa gift he needed to get, but he'd told her he'd like to try and do it himself. If by the time they met for lunch and he's had no luck, then he'd ask her for help.

When walking around the village with Olive, Zuberi had been paying attention to the merchandise available and he'd been looking through the owl order catalogs all week, not only to get ideas but making notations on pages for those items he doubted could be gotten in Hogsmeade or, once the Christmas holiday began, in Diagon Alley. Viktor's already helped with one gift for Olive, an quaffle autographed by some of her favorite professional players. Viktor told him it's wrapped and at the house whenever Zuberi wants it.

There are a number of temporary carts and kiosks up and down High Street, all of them most likely only there because the Christmas gift buying season is has recently begun. One of the carts has a variety of purses. Zuberi drew the name of a first year, a Gryffindor girl called Madeline Destrand who he knows next to nothing about. He'd had to ask a first year in his own house, Lilith Balfour, whom he also doesn't know to speak of beyond seeing her around the Slytherin common room and sometimes at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall. Lilith was nice enough to point Madeline out to him and tell him what she could about the girl.

The information from Lilith wasn't overly enlightening so Zuberi has been stuck thinking for days what might an eleven or twelve year old girl like or want. One thing Lilith did say is that she has the impression Madeline's from money, which might mean she doesn't want for much. With that in mind he turned strictly to thinking about what a girl that age might like. He thought back to when Marjani was eleven and twelve. He also paid more attention to younger girls coming and going from the Great Hall, in and out of Slytherin house, the common commons, passing by in the hallways. He noticed that many girls, both lower years and upper years, often carry a purse even if they also have a bookbag, satchel or something similar. He realized Olive and Marjani tend to do that. He keeps meaning to ask one of them why that is but so far hasn't.

The cart with the purses catches his eye and Zuberi soon finds himself mulling over several options. After a good fifteen minutes he finally selects one that doesn't seem old ladyish, one that a younger girl might like. As he pays for the purse he tells himself that even if Madeline doesn't care for her gift, no one can say Zuberi didn't make an effort.

While her brother is agonizing over which purse to buy Marjani is a little further down the High at another of the temporary carts. She'd started out the morning with Etta and Jill but quickly peeled away to do her own thing because she needed to pick up their gifts, which had been ordered already, and didn't want to have to be sneaky so they wouldn't see if they were all together.

Those gifts and the ones for other friends taken care of, Marjani has been shopping for a few more presents to give Zuberi and Viktor and she's been trying to decide on a secret santa gift. She'd drawn Astronomy professor Celeste Quigley. For some reason buying gifts for professors is something Marjani always finds more difficult. One of the things she'd done this morning was to pick up a little something for each of her professors. As all her teachers are getting a bottle of the elderberry wine produced by Botanicals & Beyond, Marjani couldn't very well consider that Professor Quigley's secret santa gift.

The particular cart where she's currently stopped has some very lovely scarves. Marjani had stopped because of a bright sapphire one with a white vine pattern had caught her eye. She covets it enough that she decides to buy it for herself but first goes through the several neatly folded piles to see if there's anything she'd prefer more. In the process she finds a scarf she knows is going home with her as Professor Quigley's secret santa present. The scarf has a celestial pattern that not only is gorgeous but Marjani likes the play on Celeste Quigley's name.

After spending another minute or two looking through more of the scarves, Marjani pays for both the celestial one and the sapphire one. Donning hers on the spot, she walks away turning her thoughts to where to eat.

Gift Wrapping In The Commons (Amorica & Lauren)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   03-02-13 18:55

Cousins Lauren MacDougal and Amorica Wenlock began the morning at the pitch for the flying and Quidditch workshop. They would have preferred to go into Hogsmeade but as a first year and a second year, respectively, the only way that would happen would be if they snuck off the grounds. As appealing as a bit of adventure sounds, neither would much like the punishment if caught.

After lunch the two girls were not looking forward to returning to the cold, which is more pronounced when on a broom above the pitch. As Coach Krum doesn't make participants stay for the entire time if they don't want, the cousins opted for the warmth of the common commons where they topped off their meal with steaming mugs of hot cocoa with generous dollops of whipped cream and a shared plate of iced sugar biscuits in festive holiday shapes. They also each had a gingerbread person, neither girl feeling the least bit remorseful at eating their waving, smiling gingerbread people. It's not as if the biscuits feel pain. If that were an issue hardly anyone would ever eat more than one chocolate frog.

Before coming to the commons from the Great Hall Lauren had gone to her room to retrieve the Secret Santa gift she'd picked out after seeing whose name she drew. She'd selected a sweater from a gift catalog and owled off for it that day, using the extra allowance money her mum had sent specifically for the gift exchange. She'd not paid to have it wrapped because that cost extra and she preferred to save her money to spend on other presents and for things orders from the sweets shoppe. It was easy to get mum to send giftwrap. That had arrived a couple of days ago as did the assortment of ribbons and bows her mum had sent.

That Sophie McCourt was in the commons when Lauren first arrived ready to wrap the gift was a little amusing to her because Sophie is the person to whom the sweater is going. After polishing off the gingerbread lady she'd picked out Lauren mulled over which of the wrapping papers to use. While she deciding Amorica left long enough to go to her dorm to get the Secret Santa gift she'll give, inspired by her cousin to go on and get it wrapped. When Amorica returns Lauren has the sweater in its box with pale red wrapping tissue paper with a dancing snowman design and has the box wrapped in deep blue paper festooned with silver bells that can be heard playing a Christmas tune if putting the paper close to an ear. She'd gone with silver ribbon to match the bells, tied into a pretty bow.

Amorica had drawn the name of a boy in her year but a different house, Paton Shrewsbury. Her mother Shalamar had asked Amorica to let her know as soon as the names were drawn because she had some gift ideas if Amorica was interested. If her mum already had some good ideas, she didn't see why she shouldn't take advantage of that so within the hour of getting Paton's name, she'd sent off his name and some information about to her mother. A few hours later she'd gotten a letter from Shalamar listing several of the ideas that were more suited for boys. Of everything on the list Amorica most liked the chocolate chess set suggestion. After spending the rest of the day thinking of alternate gifts ideas from the list her mother sent, Amorica came to the conclusion that nothing she came up with was as good and that she wouldn't mind having her own chess set made entirely of chocolate.

The next morning she'd sent off another owl to Shalamar requesting the chocolate chess set. The package had arrive Friday night but Amorica hadn't gotten around to doing anything with it yet. As it's not wrapped, she uses the opportunity now to do so, using some of Lauren's paper. It's got a blue-black background with decorated Christmas trees, the lights merrily twinkling. She goes for a simple bow in the same yellow color as some of the lights. Once she's affixed the bow and name tag, Amorica goes to place it under the commons tree, snagging another gingerbread man on her way back even though there are still some of the ice sugar biscuits left.

Sharing A Table (Alexa, Jill, & Liannah)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   03-02-13 20:36

Jill had begun the day with Marjani and Etta. Marjani went off on her own early on while Etta and Jill shopped together for a long while. Like Marjani there were some gifts both Etta and Jill wanted to look for without someone else hanging around, even if that someone else is a best friend. She'd gotten distracted by silly items like the chocolate Quidditch players she'd bought for herself and focused on gifts for family and friends that despite being with Etta when she bought a Secret Santa gift, hearing others talking about the gift exchange, and having Luke Walker on her gift list Jill forgot to be looking for something the third year might like.

It isn't until Jill is looking at a pair of men's gloves, her grandfather Christian Prewitt in mind, when she suddenly remembered Luke. Feeling stupid for not having been searching this whole time for a Secret Santa gift, Jill turns from the gloves with a mind to going someplace like Krum's Completely Quidditch or McHavelock's Wizarding Headgear for some kicky winter hat when it struck her that gloves might be nice. Winter weather has barely set in. The truly frigid weather is yet to come. Luke might appreciate a new pair of gloves. Jill knows he probably has a pair but second pair is never a bad idea.

Going back to the gloves she thought her grandfather might like, Jill gets those then starts looking through the other pairs. After several minutes of looking she comes across a pair made of wool but that aren't in the least bit scratchy as wool sometimes can be. Not only that, the gloves are charmed against rain, snow, and wind and though they don't look it, they are thermal. Gloves that are toasty warm and won't have the elements seeping through sound perfect to Jill. Resisting the urge to do a happy dance, she pays for the gloves then heads to Brews & Stews to get a bite to eat.

Brews & Stews is fairly packed but hands waving and her name being called has Jill spotting her cousins Alexa and Liannah. Reaching their table Alexa invites, "Join us. We ended up sharing because of the crowd. I swear I saw some of these guys coming out of the Crown & Cauldron earlier."

After Jill gets her order made Liannah gestures to all of the bags Jill has. "Successful finding gifts or did you go on a shopping spree for yourself?"

"A little of both," Jill laughs, pulling out one of the chocolate Quidditch players to show them. "I'm happy about the Secret Santa gift I bought but what do you think?" Jill shows them the gloves, earning thumbs up from both of them.

"I got something wool as well, but it's a cloak," Liannah tells her.

Alexa grins. "Liannah must not have either of us or she'd not have mentioned it. So, show us the cloak," she good naturedly orders even as Liannah is pulling it out of a bag.

"It's for Professor Fanshawe," she explains.

"Oooh, nice. I want one, but in blue. No, wait, deep purple," Jill says.

Careful not to get anything on the cloak, Alexa strokes the green material. "It's soft and thick enough it should be extremely comfortable in the cold."

After having Liannah model the cloak Jill looks to Alexa. "Your turn. Unless you have one of us that is."

"I don't have either of you; I've got Ramona Mickle. Mum helped Amorica out and offered to help me as well but I told her I wanted to first have a look around the village today. I found this multi-colored bracelet that I quite like."

When Alexa pulls it out Liannah states, "If Ramona doesn't like it I'll take it."

"I'll keep that in mind," Alexa says with a laugh.

As the three are finishing up their meal, the see Liannah's sister Marlow and two of the other Wenlock cousins, Heather and Eden, coming in. Liannah is in too good a mood to make a sniping comment about her sister and even suggests letting the three younger girls have the table since Alexa, Jill, and she are about to vacate it. Getting the younger girls's attention, the three older girls leave them to the table, ready to get out there and get more gift shopping accomplished.

Finally Taking A Break (Eden, Heather, & Marlow)
Author: Aaron Miller
Date:   03-02-13 21:44

Fellow third years, friends, and cousins Heather, Eden, and Marlow came into the village together, eager for their second such Hogsmeade trip and eager to see holiday shopping would bring them. After a stop at Briar's Bakery for breakfast the trio began working their way up one side of High Street in search of prefect presents and great bargains to optimize how far their galleons would go.

When it came to finding gifts for their respective Secret Santa recipients Marlow is the first to have success. She'd drawn Lawrence Masterson's name. At first she'd been a little disappointed, having no idea what one gets a professor one has never had and a professor about which the previous school year one heard disgruntled comments from some who have had the man for Herbology. After having time to think about it though Marlow decided drawing a professor, even one she's not yet had for a course, isn't so bad. Besides that, if she really gets stuck, she can always turn to her parents for assistance.

A few questions here and there and Marlow had a better sense of Professor Masterson. One tibit she'd gleaned is that he likes to travel so when she came across a photo album with a travel theme, Marlow knew she would buy the album. As she counted out the money for the album she thought it's too bad she doesn't have some of the photograqhs the Mastersons have probably taken on some of their travels to go on and put in the album.

Eden was next to purchase a Secret Santa present. She'd had an idea of what she wanted but until she saw in person the item in question she wasn't sure if she'd go with it or not. The it is actually a pair of shoes. High top trainers to be exact. More specifically High top trainers in Slytherin colors and with the Slytherin crest.

Eden drew Asher Kent's name. Though she doesn't know the first year, who is a member of Slytherin House, having two brothers have given her some idea of the sort of things boys like. Based on Jasper and Alastor, she knows that some boys like having cool looking trainers. She'd learned that McBloom and McMuck have some pairs that definitely rate as cool so just in case she liked one pair for Asher she'd come prepared with his shoe information complete with outline drawings of the soles of two pairs of his shoes, courtesy of his roommate Bruno Tate after Eden had said she'd bring him back his choice of bakery confection or Honeydukes sweets. The shoe shoppe had exactly what she was after and though there were none of the Slytherin themed trainers in Asher's size in stock, the clerk who waited on her made short work of making her a pair. By the time Heather had found a Secret Santa gift as well, the trainers were ready to be picked up.

Since drawing Aderyn Carter's name for the gift exchange Heather has put in a great deal of time thinking about what to give the younger girl. Eden, Marlow and she have been in Hogsmeade for half the day and she was no further to figuring out a gift. Frustrated, and slightly annoyed that Marlow and Eden are both set, Heather stumbled onto an unusual and sort of cutesy necklace that might just be perfect for Aderyn.

The younger girl is new to the Ravenclaw Quidditch team this term, playing in one of the beater positions. The necklace pendant is stylized after a beater's bat. After consulting Marlow and Eden, Heather gets the necklace, hopeful that the youngest of the Carters will like it. Purchase made the three cousins return to the shoe shoppe for the Secret Santa from Eden to Asher Kent then, realizing the time it's gotten to be, head to Brews & Stews for a slightly later than usual for them lunch. At the restaurant they luck out getting a table that will fit all three of them comfortably when Marlow's older sister Liannah along with cousins Alexa and Jill are in the process of vacating the table they'd shared.

Relieved to have their Secret Santa gifts out of the way along with several other presents and happy to sit down for the first time since eating breakfast at Briar's this morning, they take their time with the meal, enjoying being away from school and trying not to think about how near the exams are that always go hand in hand with the start of Christmas holiday.

Catching Up on Correspondence - Mockridge Townhouse
Author: Nephele Mockridge
Date:   03-03-13 03:14

Nephele was sitting at her desk, having already set this day aside to make various plans for the Holidays and Valeria's time off. Slughorn was quite understanding about the social obligations she had to deal with, in part because his own holidays were starting to become rather busy, with various former students sending their gifts or invitations for him to visit. They had already agreed to break for the Hogwarts holiday break, so that Nephele could spend time with Valeria, and now the blonde was going through the various invitations and making notes in her calendar.

When the owl from the Blackguard offices had arrived, Nephele had deliberately set it aside for a day. After all, it was the first she'd heard from Pippin since he'd let her see the book, and while she did know he'd been in St. Mungo's, it really didn't mean she wasn't going to show her displeasure at him waiting so long. Even if it was a subtle form of it. Once she had her schedule done, she chose two different dates and times and sent her response back to the Blackguard offices, asking that he please choose one of them and let her know so she could update her schedule.

Once that was done, she turned her attention to their own holiday festivities. Since Valeria's letters home had been full of Petula Parkinson, Anton Avery and Titus Nott, she sent letters to the families, inviting them to join them for Christmas evening and Boxing Day. A slightly impish smile curved her lips as she thought of inviting Cassandra to join them as well. Another short note was sent off, with the addition that she would expect to see Cass that weekend and she could answer then. It had become habit for their friend to spend the few days around the full moon with them, as it gave them a chance to share what research they had found, though little progress had been made so far.

Once the correspondence and social niceties were dealt with, Nephele sat back down with Philantha Parkinson's journal and began to read. She was starting to suspect this curse was a particularly nasty sort, that only could be reversed under certain circumstances. To say a curse wasn't able to be countered or reversed was just silly, it only meant that no one had found the way yet. And this was one she was determined to figure out.

Sending Off Some Letters Of Her Own - Mockridge Dower House
Author: Cloris Mockridge
Date:   03-03-13 03:34

For all of their differences, both Cloris and Nephele had a certain logic in the way they dealt with their correspondence. The elder Mockridge took some time each day to handle more pressing matters, like letters from her adored granddaughter, but Saturdays were her preferred time to handle various invitations and less pressing matters.

However, that morning had brought another letter from Valeria, who seemed rather desperately ready for the holidays. Cloris hadn't forgotten her intention to write to Headmistress McGonagall about the issues Valeria had raised regarding Professor Morgan, nee Davyd, but it seemed that each week brought a new scandal courtesy of Rita Skeeter.

Cloris wasn't one to believe the Prophet's darling reporter, she'd known her too long, though she was amused by the woman's habit of twisting the truth to suit the more sensational aspects. But she knew there was always a grain or two of truth under the innuendo and twisting, which did disturb her, as a concerned relative. She knew others were concerned as well, and had taken the liberty of writing to each of them that morning already.

And then she sat down to draft her letter to the Headmistress herself, expressing her concerns both as a member of the Board of Governors and as a grandmother of a student. If there were any truth to the various allegations, and she assured the Headmistress that she was well aware of Skeeter's habit of twisting things to suit her own purposes, after all, her own family had been attacked by the woman after the death of Alistair and his wife, then she was truly concerned for the students in their care. Naturally, she would trust the Headmistress' judgement, but surely, she herself could see why parents and others may be concerned? Perhaps it was old-fashioned of her, but she longed for the old days with only one professor for each subject, when they were discreet enough to keep their personal lives just that.

Finishing her letter, Cloris glanced over it before flipping it over and sealing it with the Mockridge seal in the Slytherin green wax. Once that was sent, she would have to head out, after all, Valeria's Christmas would not buy itself.

Shopping Difficulties (Tamsin)
Author: Josie
Date:   03-03-13 07:08

Penny Puckett and I were at Hogsmeade enjoying our second trip to the village. Penny was helping me to decide what would be the best present give to our Potions' teacher, Professor Weasley. I had got her name for the Secret Santa and I thought today would be a good occasion to buy such gift.

"What about these?" Penny suggested, pointing at a pair of purple boots, which were displayed at the window of McBloom and McMuck.

I approached the window, and read the descriptive tag, that not only indicated the price, but it also told the boots were made of magical leather, and they would change color according to its user's mood. I imagined Professor Weasley in class, giving a sermon to one of us, her boots suddenly turning red. No, this would not be a good gift for our Potions' teacher at all.

"But they are pretty. Maybe I will ask my parents to get me one for Christmas," Penny commented.

I laughed. The boots were very long and Penny would not look good wearing them. If I knew she was serious I would warm her about it, but I know she was probably joking. Since I could not find the right present, we decided to shop gifts to our families instead and leave this hard text to the end. I bought a large bag with sweets for each one of my four brothers at Honeydukes, a tie that would lace itself once you put it on your neck for my father and some bags of her favorite tea for my mother. I was pleased to be in the budget and I still had enough money to buy Professor Weasley's present.

I looked inside almost every store for some inspiration. Penny's suggestions were getting sillier and desperate as the time passed. She reached to the point of trying to convince me to buy a cauldron since Professor Weasley liked potions, so she was sure one day, she could use an extra one.

I was losing my patience and I was ready to declare defeat and go home when I saw it: in a top shelf of Scrivenschaft's Quill Shop, a notebook with a matching pen. I guessed such object must not have been sold yet, because wizards did not use pens, but quills and this was a quill shop, after all. However I liked the notebook and I thought Professor Weasley wouldn't mind if it came with a pen attached with it. Who knew maybe she liked to write with a pen as well.

After the purchase, Penny and I went back to the castle, both satisfied with what we bough, feeling that our mission was finally accomplished.
